Police in New York City are searching for a 46-year-old cleaning woman who vanished while working inside a building near ground zero on Tuesday. Security cameras, which are positioned throughout the building, captured Eridania Rodriguez during her shift but none showed her leaving.

An Amtrak passenger train slams into a sedan at a railroad crossing near Detroit. All five people in the car are killed, but no one on the train is seriously hurt. Police say the crossing has a gate and flashing lights and it appears both were working when the car drove up.

Make way for turtles! Officials say a runway at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport was shut down temporarily when at least 78 turtles emerged from a nearby bay and crawled onto the tarmac. Flight delays of up to 1 1/2 hours ensued before the reptiles were removed from the runway.
