Although this number is mind boggling.. it shouldn't be considered surprising. Anyways, the only thing that pisses me off is the $700 million the government wasted on DTV box coupons after congress voted to delay the switch for a few months(not to mention the millions spent on coupons and advertising prior).. I guess there were those that felt despite our current economic problems it was a good idea to throw even more money at people to sit on their a** watching TV "digitally".

I don't feel sorry for anyone caught by surprise about this digital switch. They had months and months of warnings, tons of information available, and coupons they could order any of several ways making most of the boxes available essentially free. It was constantly on the very TV they were supposedly watching, usually as a crawl during shows and news programs, and featured regularly on the news itself. Stupid is as stupid does.

CBS must be in cahoots with Comcast, AT & T, Direct TV, etc. here in Chicago since their digital transmission signal is too weak to be picked up by those of us who use an antenna. (Yes, I have a new HD TV and a new UHF/VHF antenna and am pulling in most local stations.) What's the story CBS? I had hoped that as of June 12th you would have increased your emission strength. Do we represent such a poor market that you can't be bothered?
