And although the overall expansion of the Sun Belt's economy has been dramatic, the distribution of the region's prosperity has been uneven; of the 25 metropolitan areas with the lowest per capita income in 1990, 23 were in the Sun Belt.********** Of course the incomes were lower, the living costs are considerably lower as well as the taxes.

say what you will about government but it's our fault.in our attempt to get ahead we have allowed people into positions of power that hate the system that put them there.most have no idea what a real job is and are disgusted that they even have to talk to those who appreciate the american dream and are proud of our country.we must realize that our common enemy is not across the oceans as in the past and are not at the door but are here among us everday.it's not to late but we must start making our voices heard or we'll slide back into the darkness and become what we fought in wars to help others from becoming.

"capitalizing on the low involvement of labor unions and the proximity of military bases that paid handsomely, and reliably, for their products and services." What's wrong with this picture? Paying workers low wages and the military paying high prices with taxpayer money? That's not much of a formula for prosperity for average Americans.

Mayabelle, you hit the nail on the head. Our four fathers are probably rolling in graves. Is this the end of capitalism at its best?

Government owned industry and banking. Forced regulatory controls on open markets, investments and personal wealth. Massive increase in government employees (the only sector of the workforce Gaining employment). Appointments of Czars and Czarinas in positions created to monitor American citizens for the common good. $4,000,000,000,000 budget in an economic recession. Installation of activist judges to The Supreme Court who, in her own words, admitted that appeals courts make policy (she is now a member of the largest appeals court on planet Earth)..... Call it what you will, but it's a hell of a lot closer to Bolshevik policy than the one Thomas Jefferson had in mind.
