ABC's `Good Morning America' cancels Lambert


NEW YORK (AP) — Adam Lambert's racy American Music Awards performance cost him a gig on "Good Morning America," but he will perform live instead on ABC's morning rivals at CBS. Lambert was to sing Wednesday on "GMA," but the network said Tuesday it was canceling the openly gay singer because "we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning."

A.R. Rahman, Jennifer Hudson headline state dinner


WASHINGTON (AP) — It's an all-star lineup for Tuesday's first state dinner of the Obama White House: Oscar-winners Jennifer Hudson and A.R. Rahman headline the entertainment list. Hudson won an Academy Award for her role in the movie "Dreamgirls." Rahman won two for music in "Slumdog Millionaire," including the Best Original Song award for "Jai Ho."

Italian group asks MTV to cancel 'Jersey Shore'


FAIRFIELD, N.J. (AP) — A national Italian-American organization based in New Jersey says an MTV reality show that depicts Italian-American beachgoers as the "hottest, tannest, craziest Guidos" is offensive and should be scrapped before it airs. UNICO National said Tuesday that "Jersey Shore" relies on crude stereotypes and highlights cursing, bad behavior and violence in depicting renters at a New Jersey beach house.

Filmmaker Tyler Perry donates $1M to NAACP


BALTIMORE (AP) — Filmmaker Tyler Perry has donated $1 million to the NAACP to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the civil rights organization. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People says the gift announced Monday is the largest donation from an individual in the organization's history. It will be distributed over four years.

Wyeth that were used to lavishly illustrate the classic adventure tale of "Robinson Crusoe." The Dec. 2 sale at Christie's also includes works by N.C. Wyeth's son, Andrew, and grandson, Jamie.

Chef Paula Deen accidentally hit by charity ham


ATLANTA (AP) — Celebrity chef Paula Deen got an unexpected serving of ham — across her face. The Food Network star was helping unload 25,000 pounds of donated meat for an Atlanta food bank on Monday when someone threw one of the hams like a football and accidentally smacked her. Deen tells WGCL-TV: "I thought it busted my lip, but it didn't."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mya is poised to take the "Dancing With the Stars" title after finishing three points away from perfect during the final night of competition Monday. She made it clear that she intends to claim the show's mirrorball trophy.

Sambora of Bon Jovi honored as NJ hometown hero


WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (AP) — The New Jersey town where Richie Sambora grew up says Bon Jovi's lead guitarist can come home whenever he wants. On Tuesday, residents and public officials gathered in Sambora's hometown of Woodbridge to name a street in his honor.
