Bruce Springsteen canceled a Kansas City performance after a road crew member - Springsteen's own cousin - died. The death of 36-year-old Lenny Sullivan was announced in a statement on Springsteen's Web site.
"A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family," said the statement.
TMZ reports that Sullivan was found in his room at Kansas City's Intercontinental Hotel hours before Springsteen and the E Street Band were to take the stage Monday night. Sullivan had served as the band's assistant road manager for ten years.
Kansas City police spokesman Capt. Rich Lockhart said officers were investigating the death, although he said it was not suspicious, according to the Associated Press.
The Sprint Center arena said tickets would be refunded.
