LONDON -Britain's prime minister says NATO nations may contribute 5,000 more troops to Afghanistan — offering key backing as the U.S. decides whether to increase troop levels.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown launched an impassioned defense of the controversial military campaign in Afghanistan during an interview Friday on the BBC, acknowledging that Britain needed to "adjust our approach" amid rising casualties.
But he insisted other NATO nations would step up to help share the burden. Brown says Washington and London "need our other NATO allies to help" and that "we could probably get another 5,000 forces into Afghanistan."

More BlahBlahBlah--Win over the people, how? What good are more troops if they don't have an identifiable enemy to fight? What is a war that is not a war to be fought? Another general afflicted with vague and vapid EggHead abstractions...Afghanistan is a country ruled by gangsters: Government gangsters, Warlord gangsters, Taliban gangsters. In the overall, it has ever been thus. We are just the latest pack of fools to waste the blood of our troops there, while draining our own national treasury. Madness! (BuckStripes, USMC vet)...

"The world needs to hear from the moderate Islamic communities. When the blasphemy laws are applied in countries such as Pakistan and non-Muslims are killed, are those keepers of the law being good Muslims or bad ones? The world needs to hear. When freedoms are so restricted in Islamic countries that no Muslim is allowed to disbelieve in Islam with impunity, is that a good Muslim law or a bad one? The freedom to believe -- or not -- is one of the most sacred privileges of the human mind. That freedom is taken away in the name of Islam. Statistics that indicate that Islam is growing are not an accurate reflection of the hearts of the people, because they really have no choice. Until those who are not Muslims are free to practice their faith in Muslim countries -- and those who seek to become Christians or choose another faith can do so with impunity -- Islam will never be free from the fear it can engender. I pray for such a day, when one's ultimate choice in life can be made without fe...

Typical Obama game-plan. When he starts to get heat on a subject he and his handlers "leak" or create a story about Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld, etc. as a smokescreen so he doesn't have to answer for his errors or mistakes. Bush didn't blame Clinton for all of the country's ills...he just went ahead to fix the problems. Obama and his cronies have absolutely no character and are evil. He has the press helping him.

What do you expect. We are only fighting a defensive war and we can never win. We should just nuke the safe havens in Pakistan including women and children because they are used as human shields but more importantly they are potential terrorists. They have been brainwashed very early in life and their only purpose in life is to kill as many infidels as they can by whatever means necessary especialy suicide and car bombings.Let us put an end to their misery.
