Whether white or black, club members should have been told that this group was contracted to swim at the swim for so many days of the summer. Perhaps most of the shock was simply from seeing people not typical of the club en masse. Here comes the part about being good to your neighbor because it's the right thing to do. Two points:1-It would be a great lesson to teach the children from the mostly white club, that we not just tolerate, but accept, people that look different.2-Most inner city kids suffer from a lack of exposure -- some of them just don't know that real people live in nice areas. It would have been incredibly hospitable for the club members to show these kids what life is like on the outside of the city. For them to know, that with education, hard work and preparation, they can live anywhere they want. Ok, so maybe they won't be so welcome at that club, but you get the picture.

Let's cut the BS. Whether we are black, white, Asian, Arab we all think what we want about each other. I will say this I am white and do not want my kids in a pool or anything else with a bunch of black inner city kids. I have worked to hard to live in a white neighborhood and put them in the best schools. Bus these blacks to a neighborhood comparable to their own or have their parents work as hard as I have to place their children in finer neighborhoods. Every time these minorities cannot have something they scream and cry racism. This is just another way to gain something in life they have not worked for. There are plenty of public inner city pools where they can swim without feeling uneasy. Notice whites do not flock to the inner city pools because we do not belong their so why can't minorities figure this out and do the same. Blacks have a black Miss America and other things strictly for blacks if whites tried that we would be crucified and called racists. Well we want to have all ...

My Gosh, every time anything happens and a black person is involved they yell, Racism! It's really getting old. America is a great diverse country and if you want all racism to stop, Stop it in the black population too. Quanel X Said,"If you find a good white person, Kill him before he turns bad." That's racism! I have saved the lives of 4 black persons in my life, worked as close friends with black co workers and had many wonderful neighbors that were black. Stop this craziness and except that for most people in America there is no racism just some people that try to find excuses for their problems instead of solutions.

Codybarr---- But once it signed a contract and money was exchanged, it was up to the club to have the decency to live up to its end of the bargain-------------------- Nice grandstand. You apparently know nothing about the rights of a PRIVATE club. They can revoke privileges at a moment's notice. They were gracious enough to sever ties INCLUDING a refund. These kids should understand that the world is not THEIRS. There are places that they are not welcome. Get over it. Unfortunately, they will be reminded of this on a daily basis by parents and "leaders" who have bad intentions.

Comments are going to be made...that will never end, let's face it there will always be ignorant people, but it's time to quit playing the race card for everything. I'm not really sure why we are even allowed to have the BET station or any other "Black" only anything. It makes me sick and it so hypocritical. Quit the "whoa is me attitude". Get out there and work hard for things, believe in something, quit thinking you deserve retribution for things not done to you. We have become a country of people thinking they are "entitled" to everything. Why do you think those wall street bank idiots got us in this mess.

Racism ! It can't hide behind the word "private club". The club had a perfect right not to take $1900 from this group. It had a perfect right not to let the group in at all. But once it signed a contract and money was exchanged, it was up to the club to have the decency to live up to its end of the bargain. What did these children learn on this Monday from their white hosts? I would list it for you, but let's just call the whole disgusting thing pathetic at best.

There's not much I can say...but one thing ''that hurts the inward parts of my heart...and that's my soul. I'm an American born, person of color, and for some one to hurt children there is something wrong with them ,no child should be done like that.

The NAACP runs around like a chicken with it's head cut off looking for stuff to crow about. Everything is always "boo hoo, everyone is picking on us!" So what it was a private pool who can allow anyone they want in and can refuse anyone as well. For whatever reason they have. The key word here is 'private'. If it was a public pool (why don't they just go there?) then I could see a possible problem with supposedly overheard (hearsay) remarks and entrance refusal, but a privately owned facility may refuse service to ANYONE they wish. Do ya think they would have let 25 drunken cowboys in the pool? NOPE! I'm not saying the black children were like drunken cowboys, I'm just saying that it is a private club's right to turn ANYONE away.

I got it, They are miserable. They did not realize that they would be around when a Black man was going to be calling shots, just a few hours down the way. (White house) Imagine their conversation during the 4th of July. Get over it, Living in America.See how GOD works.
