How do they base these things on ecological trends? So if I have alot of natural resources, that means I'm happy? wtf?Its true Costa Rican's are pretty happy though. I went there last week for 10 days, and they had the nicest people who seemed to be genuinely happy. Way more layed back than America. The only other countries I've were in Europe, people there are OK. Lets just say the colder the country, the colder the people. Besides Romania... everyone there was super mean and bitter lol... Least happy people in the world.

I do not think that the living conditions are the happiest in these countries. In general people do live happier lives because they are not overly preoccupied with materials things. People in these countries also live longer. Also, USA is not in the economic situation that it is because of "the illegal aliens", it's because we are a greedy and materialistic nation. We need to stop blaming these "aliens" for our troubles and start taking responsibilities for our actions. By the way it's spelled Costa Rica not Costa Rico. We are not in the top ten because we get mad when another nations are more successful than us. If it is not the american way then hit the highway.

Who writes this crap? If these are the happiest nations then this planet is in bigger trouble than we previously thought.

It's not the findings of this report I diagree with, it's the criteria used to determine "happiness". My question would be: "Compared to the US, what have these 'happy' people in these 'happy' countries contributed to the betterment of mankind, like breakthroughs in medical knowledge, for example?" For many of these folks, "ignorance is bliss". The really happy ones live here, make tons of money here and/or go back to "happy land" to indulge in their hedonistic lifestyles. When and if they get seriously ill, they come back here to this "evil empire" called the US for treatment.
