Rose House (left) and its glass pavilion (right) are located in Chicago's Highland Park neighborhood. 'Ferris Bueller' fans will recall the teen protagonist crashing his car through the pavilion.
The Midwestern house with the Hollywood pedigree is currently on the market for $2.3 million (movie fans may recognize the pavilion with the glass walls that the teen characters crashed through with a sports car). But the Tribune reports that some have inquired about demolishing the house and carving up the lot.
The list also includes three homes designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as an historic district that is considered the country's first golf club community, the paper reported.
The listing offers no funding or other benefits, the newspaper notes, other than to bring attention to the plight of the homes listed.
