MIAMI -When the FBI investigated the landmark 1972 porno movie "Deep Throat," the case touched the highest levels of the FBI, even its second-in-command W. Mark Felt, the shadowy Watergate informant whose "Deep Throat" alias was taken from the movie's title.

It's only hypocritical in the eye of the beholder. If I want porn to be legal but same-sex marriage to be banneded then that's my perogative whether you find it hypocrital or not. Same thing applies to "big government", I want as little amount of government encroachment on U.S. citizens as humanly possible but that won't stop me from utilizing it for my benefit either.

This from the Republican party that claims to want "big government out of our lives". Except when porn is involved, apparently. Or if you're gay and want to get married. Or if you don't believe in Jesus. In each of those cases, they want nothing BUT government in our lives.Hypocrites.

Other big name films were I Am Curious Yellow and I Am Curious Blue. Both Swedish porn, they were put out as art films. But Deep Throat was the biggie. Lots of court cases, local governments went nuts. Now there is better stuff on the internet. I remember when some students went to court to show X rated flicks to raise money at U Texas in Austin, after big court case they showed something that wasn't memorable. After a few showings that packed the house, demand dropped off, showing Patton or Dr Strangelove or other cult classics made more money. Mafia ran the East Coast but Edgar went after Deep Throat. Those were the days.....

When you start getting rid of the makers of porn because you dont like the content of their product, when they are gone, you dont stop there. You go after those who create content for tv,movies, books and especially newspapers when you dont like what they do and what their impact on the country is. that what was happening in 1973. We still havent learned from that.
