What is a 2 year-old doing on an ATV in first place? Are the people complete morons or what?

The rest of my rant got cut off, What was probabley a very happy moment for the family turned into a horrible tragedy that they may never overcome. Accidents that can claim a childs life happen all the time, and despite a persons best efforts to protect their children, they still happen. You can do everything in your ability to protect your children but they can still be hurt. The only way guarantee 100% safety for your children is to raise them in a box. All these fools that are calling for criminal prosecution of the father, are just that... fools. If the father committed a crime that resulted in the death of his child CPS or the police would be all over it. Stop speculating, you don't know the facts about what happened so SHUT UP.

soldier2002marines, ooops!! i just have to say that remark about him living with it for the rest of his life is not a harsh enough punishment. i'm assuming this guy loved his child and is feeling like absolute crap and blaming himself, if this is true then i honestly can't imagine anything worse than having to live with it. so i'm sure if he were given the choice of life in prison or bringing his son back, i'm sure he'd pick the jail. not to mention i wonder what will happen with his marriage, i can't say i would be able to forgive my husband. so his life is probably over. but like i said from the interview he kind of comes across as arrogant and not to blame. would it make you feel better if he fell to the ground and was sobbing?? that really isn't sarcasm because i think then many people would feel better if he showed remorse. noone knows what he is doing in private, but it is cheesy to pose on your porch.

i think people are upset with the father because the media portrayed him as more concerned with the fact that he didn't have anyone home to watch his house. i hope this is not true. i do have to say for someone with 25 years of experience you should have known better than putting a two year old on one of those things. (or a 5, 8,10 yr. old, they are WAY too young!!) God forbid this was a horrible thing, but i think if i were them getting robbed at this point would not even matter. but the people who did this are scumbags and i wouldn't be surprised if it was someone they knew. because they were at the funeral home making arrangements, who knows that?? if they were at the wake or funeral, where the times are published, if they were there then anyone could know about that. but who knows when you are going to make arrangements?? i know so many people that have people stay at their homes during the wake and funeral because thieves have done this sick thing for years. this is nothing new!!

Soldier2002Army, I have to say you are a radical and flat off your rocker. Are you on drugs or something? I have looked back over some of your other comments to others on here and I have to say you are overboard with the things you are saying. Why do you want people locked up so bad? This was an accident pure and simple. If the man was intoxicated the police would have locked him up. Like Tankerman (who you also jumped on) said, you don't even know the facts on the matter and you are ranting about a story you really know nothing about. Again, are you on drugs?? I get a real bad vibe from you, chill out.....this was an accident pure and simple. Read Tankermans post closely again because it doesn't sound like you read the whole thing. And further more I hope you are now retired from the army because people like you are the ones who give us all a bad name over seas with your radical way of thinking which leads to treating others badly and therefore giving us a bad name. So shut the hell up.

TankrMan68 As another fellow veteran... Do YOU believe in ACCIDENTS??? or NEGLIGENCE???In reality every accident can be prevented therefore all accidents become negligence... This death of a 2 year old boy should have been prevented... The story isn't about how the dad killed the 2 year old boy though its about thieves robbing a grieving family... Any burglar should recieve a very extensive sentence especially when it involves a grieving family... But there is an UNTOLD story here on why this father isn't being held accountable for his Negligence... Yeah he probably feels like sh*t for killing his son and has to live with it for the rest of his life, but that isn't punishment... It is like saying if I get into a car accident and kill the other driver I have to live with that the rest of my life... It's the same but different...

joker...leave the father alone because he will live with it the rest of his life??? yes im sure he will grieve for a few years and then he will learn to live with it but he will still think about that day everyday somedays more than others... its human nature... thats not the point though that is not punishment enough for this child... this father should do some hard time for neglect of a minor resulting in death and somewhere along wrongful death... he was being foolish on the ATV in order for it to kill his son... i can't believe you would defend this father... the post is about thieves taking advantage of a grieving family those guy(s) also should be held accountable and the punishment should be a little more severe than just robbery.. but the father ultimately was in the wrong... if you could go back in time and the negligence didn't happen than possibly this family would not have been robbed...

Only city people and fools are judging the family for this,I grew up in the woods, I was riding a tractor with my father at a very young age, I was riding dirt bikes with my older brother at age 6, and shooting with my dad soon after, but at all times we were taught to respect these things and use them safely. And to avert the idiotic redneck comments, I am a reitiring Firtst Sergeant of the U.S. Army, and I have a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security and an associates degree in General Studies. The fact is this is a tragedy. You were not there when the accident happened, you don't know the facts, so SHUT UP. If you are trusting the "news" to give you the "facts" you are a fool. I had to work with these fools in Iraq and they couldn't even report the time of day accurately. The only "fact" about the news is that they have to sensationalize a story or twist it to generate sales. Accidents that take a childs life can happen anyhere at anytime, and what turned ...
