LEBANON, Ohio (July 17) - Authorities in Ohio are looking for thieves who broke into a home while the family of a 2-year-old was at a funeral home preparing for the boy's services.

The sheriff's office in southwest Ohio's Warren County says 2-year-old Levi Jones, son of Ryan and Beth Jones, died in an ATV accident last week. Deputies say the family was at a Waynesville funeral home with the body on Friday when their home was burglarized. Police believe the thieves deliberately used the opportunity to rob the family.
Family members say the burglars got by two dogs and broke in the back door. They took an antique gun and some jewelry.
Detectives called the break-in at the home of a grieving family appalling, but it's not an isolated case. Police in California say thieves targeted another family that was mourning the loss of a relative at a home in Vallejo on July 10, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. At least seven attackers robbed the victims at gunpoint. The victims were assaulted, and one was hit in the head with a handgun, authorities said.
