The fireworks are a 4th of July tradition. A lot of counties and townships cancelled the fireworks. This is very disappointing. Is this one of Obama's hard choices that have to be made? A lot of people who cannot afford a vacation-thanks to obama and bush may have enjoyed the fireworks. Believe me the money saved on this will not help the poor but like the stimulous, tarp and other gov. bailouts will go into executive pockets. The fireworks are dangerous if mishandled but a lot of people cause fires with their grills and autos also.

MDDunnington 01:58 PMJul 05 2009 Nanyfive5,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you said Milions of dollars burnt up,,how about in the Billions of dollars that are burnt up across the Nation. And then they talk about Pollution. People that are complaining about having no money give it to their kids plus go out and buy Fireworks themself to burn up in a few minutes. No wonder why we are in Debt to China, they make most of the Fireworks. It is in the Billions of dollars for Fireworks across the country and also people that pay taxes that have to put out Fires started by them. The Forth of July has really nothing to do with lighting FireWorks.....back when this country was formed they didn't get out and light Fireworks. ///////// That's because they used their rifles an guns to light off their TNT!!!

President Obama, speaking to military families at the White House for Independence Day festivities, told the service members they were "the latest, strongest link in that unbroken chain that stretches back to the Continental Army." //////////// We wonder why Obama used past tense in his statement? "Were"

Grand Prairie Texas has a population of 150,000 hardly a small town. Part of the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex of 6 million or so folks..........big in my book, but then I live in Oklahoma where are biggest city is round about 500,000. Different rules for those unruly, rude masses, last time I was in Dallas the people were the rudest I have ever seen.

The little town of Grand Prairie Tx fence the roads so you couldn't pull off and watch the Fireworks, the town of Cedar Hill barricaded public tax payer roads to keep people from the best views of the firworks displays. Free America, not in these towns, it's pay though the nose if you want to enjoy4th 0fJuly fireworks.
