We have to say the bar for Britney's men friends has been set so low that any dude who gets out of bed to go to work in the morning seems like a winner to us. Jason has a job, his own money, hasn't been convicted of any felonies and he seems to love Britney just as she is. We take a look at why Jason is such a good catch for Brit after all the toxic beaus she has been with in the past.
The world has watched as Britney bounced from her teenage love affair with Justin Timberlake into the arms of Limp Bizkit front man Fred Durst to her 55-hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander and finally onto the chaotic ride that was her union with Kevin Federline.
"Of course Britney's mom thinks Jason Trawick would make a good husband; he's the first guy Britney's seriously dated since Justin Timberlake who has a job, and it's a respectable one at that, a sense of hygiene and no ulterior fame motives," explains PopWrap's Jarrett Wieselman. "Any guy who can keep his head above water in Britney's crazy world obviously has a good head on his shoulders. Plus, he's kind of a foxy older man. Lynne's probably got a little bit of a crush herself."
Trawick, 37, is pretty foxy. Radio host and author of "The Cult of Celebrity" Cooper Lawrence thinks Trawick is a mighty fine specimen of manhood (even though she takes offense at his backwards hat) and believes he is the first guy who actually stands nothing to gain from dating Brit.
"The reason this new guy seems to be good for her is that he doesn't need her to make a career happen, he doesn't need her money and he had a well established reputation before he ever met her so he can be an addition to her life rather than making it about what she can add to his. Those things aren't true for K-Fed or Adnan Ghalib," Lawrence says.
K-Fed, who came with the baggage of two children from a previous relationship, did seem to have his own agenda. He used Spears' money and fame to try to launch his own rap career (How can we ever forget PopoZao?) and when that failed he seemed content just to loaf off Brit's massive fortune, buying wildly extravagant presents for himself like watches and cars and lots and lots of golf clubs.
"Not that Kevin didn't love her but they were never quite on an equal playing field, she would always be in a position to help him and he needed to be helped," Lawrence says.
And after splitting with Kevin, Britney fell into the arms of shady paparazzo Adnan Ghalib who used his relationship with the superstar singer to sell his photos and get fifteen minutes in the spotlight.
Lawrence thinks that getting together with a good man like Jason shows that Britney is finally growing up and maturing.
"Had she met Jason at the same time she met K-Fed she would not have recognized he would be good for her. She was damaged beyond repair at that point and someone like K-Fed seemed stable to her," Lawrence says.
