Letterman needs to take a reality check of himself. He has always been arrogant, but occasionally humorous. Now he has degenerated into a smarmy old fool with the manners of a goat.

have never watched letterman previously, but after what he said about the Palin child, I watched to see who the sponsors of the show were so that I can boycott them.

Why is there such a double statndad regarding issues such as these. Were Rush to have made the same remark about the Obama family, these same supporters of so called free speech would be outraged. Our moral outrage seems to be dependent on if we like/dislike the person. I for one feel that right and wrong is black and white. It does not matter how you feel about the person, you have to keep a moral standard that you do not sacrafice because the person is conservative, black, gay, etc. We seem to be forgetting this and accepting certain bad behavior because we like them. One should ask themselves that if the same were said of their family or friends family, would they find it just as funny? Ask yourself if Rush had made this comment about someone that you liked, would it still be funny? If you say yess, then this comment is not for you, if you say no, it is time to reevalute your moral standard.

The real joke is, SARAH PALIN and her husband, let their unsupervised unwed daughter get knocked and then continued to let the minor have sex in their home,and now is suddenly shocked and demoralized when someone makes a joke of it. The thing that's not a joke, that's a terrible way to be a role model. Before you get upset about someone making jokes about your family, you should live a life of example, not made up make believe morals.

I seem to remember a particular Saturday Night Live program in which Palen demeaned herself for a few laughs and for the purpose of putting herself in the middle of political controvery. Now she can't take a joke from a paid comedian who is doing his job? Pandomanium reins when Palen enters. She's quite good at stirring a pot and getting attention. How would other governors respond? They would laugh at themselves and go on with their business.

LettermanFan1978--I just hope you have a mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and will extrapolate them with the 14 yr old Palin daughter. I am not a fan of Palin but Letterman's remarks were disgusting. As far as the demonstrators--he they all thought it was out of line, I am happy that they used their freedom of speech to let the powers that be that his statements were not appropriate. How would you feel it these "jokes" were directed your way?

I wonder how Letterman would have felt if a comedian had said something similar about the woman he "knocked up" or his bastard child? I wonder if he would think that was so funny? Also, no one seems to care about his rude and crude comment about flight attendants!!! I fly frequently and the attendants are very professional and for a comment to made by this pervert is a disgrace. He needs to go. He has no fresh material--he still has to focus on Bush with every joke when all the gaffes from Obama & Biden would prove a wealth of laughs. He needs to be removed or get more current.
