During an appearance on 'Larry King Live,' Mariah Carey was asked by the 75-year-old talk show host about Rihanna, -- whose ex-boyfriend Chris Brown pleaded guilty to attacking her -- and King then pressed the singer if she had ever been abused."Abuse has several categories," Carey answered King. "You've been emotionally abused?" King questioned.
"Emotionally, mentally ..." Mariah said.
"Why is it hard to get out of it?" King continued
"Well, it's scary," she said. "You know I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in if your situation is similar to one of the situations that I've been in which I won't harp on."
"No you don't have to, but it is hard to get out?" he asked again.
"For me, to really get out it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life," Carey added.
