And we try to convince our enemies to smoke in the war zone because it makes it easier for the snipers thermal imaging to find and shoot.

Honestly, I can't believe what I'm reading. Has this country gone crazy or what? While the pinheads at the Pentagon go home and smoke, they want to tell our soldiers that they can't. Oh pleeze. These people put their lives on the line for our country and they have the gall to want to ban the only thing that keeps many of them going. This is just plain madness.

You know what, If a person wants to be an idiot and smoke, I guess OVER THERE is the best place for it. Let them smoke OVER THERE. As long as they are forcing non smokers to have to inhale their crap say like in the barracks or somthing like that then more power to them. I agree with most on here. Smoking is the last thing you have to worry about in the middle of combat, OVER THERE. Over HERE however, I hope the pass a law making tabacco just as illegal as MJ. As a matter of fact MJ should be legal and tabacco shouldn't. At least one can use a vaporizer with MJ and just get all of the good stuff without ANY of the bad stuff that comes along with the smoke.

Wow! Any idiot in the Pentagon that agrees with this ban has never been in combat. I have never, do not, and will never smoke. But, as an American - I uphold the right for somone who chooses to smoke depsite the full knowledge that it is bad for his/her health... and folks... I am a doctor. I was in Iraq in 2003, serving along side some of the bravest men and women of our armed forces. Stress is stress and if lighting up can relieve a little bit - then so be it. Banning smoking in the military is a mistake; just like banning smoking in bars! I like what some else wrote... Washington thinks that smoking a cigarette is more dangerous that getting shot at, or having mortar or artillery rounds land nearby!!!
