Reply to: Papaschendel, You need to read this article again, but do so a little bit slower. The Municipal Court Judge sentenced her to 80 hours of Community Service & fined her $500.00 dollars. No where does it say that the Judge sentenced this 76 yr. old poo-butt lady to six months in jail. Needless to say, because of my spiritual beliefs and knowledge, I must add the following comments. I believe that any person who treats any animal with cruelty, whether it's domestic or wild, there should be at least a 30 day sentence in a County Jail. If that animal dies from that cruelty, then there should be at least a 180 day sentence & if it's two or more animals, then a sentence should be at least 1 year in prison. And all the above sentences should include mandatory psychological evaluations & counselling. I'm sick and tired of reading news articles about peoples' abusive, neglectful, cruel behaviors towards animals. And I get absolutely livid if it's a baby animal & I feel that those sente...

Jezzis it was a fawn. The woman had to repeatedly hit it with the shovel. Darn strong old woman if she could wield a shovel with that brute force. To bad Mama Doe wasn't around to kick her arse.

I don't think we have heard her entire story. I wonder how many times did she hit the fawn? If she just whooped it once to scare it off, that might have been enough to kill it. I'm sure she didn't set out to kill it or she wouldn't have put it in a box and sat it on the curb for all to see. I wonder if all the negitive comments above would feel the same way if a fawn ran in front of their car and it caused serious damage to their car or bodily harm to them.

She is a 75 year old cruel bitch. She couldn't find a human baby to kill, so she found the next best thing. I mean the little fawn was probably hungry, it didn't know that was the bitches flower garden. Maybe they can put those flowers on her grave, and hope they wilt. Maybe the old hag will die soon, and human and animal life will be much safer. Did she have any children or grandchildren to die from unknown causes. Bet she has. And what was so bad about that beaautiful little fawn in a flower garden, that would have made a beautiful picture.

I am sick of animal rights/animal control period! They take EVERYTHING too far!!!! I see cases of white collar animal abuse all the time and nothing is done about it. Who stepped to the plate when Barbaro was so inhumanely being kept alive and treated ? People said wow those owners are great he has the best medical care. The truthof the matter is that horse SUFFERED! Medical treatment or not he had no semblance of a normal horse life his last months, he suffered in pain and in the end a very painful condition lamintis in his good back leg caused by the catsrophic injury to his other hind leg claimed his life not the injury itself. The sad thing is it wasn't about saving his life....it was about stud fee's! The almighty dollar! Everyone praised THEIR efforts to save him and it was NEVER really about him. Any lesser horse would have been eutanized right there on the track but because he was a race winner and looking at stud fee's in the hundreds of a thousands of dollars a pop maybe more...

6 months in jail is a suitable punishment. And while she is away, animal control should turn her flower garden into a feeding pit for the critters. Put cameras up so that they can watch this crazy lady when she gets out.

She faces a 1,000 $ fine.!! I am so sick of these stupid animal laws that are nothing. She should face jail time, just like she would if that fawn would have been a human. Why do some people treat animals like nothing..? Animals have feelings and rights. What I would do to her and people like her. Give me a shovel I'll take care of that b*tch.
