I believe that it is unfair to rate Garfield and W.H. Harrison as one of the 10 worst. They were not in office long enough to be considered good or bad. Jimmy Carter should difinitely be added to the list as one of the top five for the terrible economy and the Irain hostage crisis.

SCR2384, Brazil was among several countries that recognized the Confederacy as a belligerant. The States did not break the constitution, military might made right and damned the constitution. Do you actually think our founding fathers, Washington, Jefferson and Madison would have sided with the North on this one? Thomas Jefferson wrote that the health of the nation would return when the North stopped trying to have an all powerful central government and stopped trying to smother Southern culture. To the victor goes the spoils of war which includes writing history, with their slant on it.

ThatsMRBadass2U: Hey dude (or dudette): You got yor "NOs" and "KNOWs" mixed-up. YOU GUYS CAN'T EVEN SPELL THE "SIMPLE WORDS" CORRECTLY or use them properly in a SENTENCE. If you read as much as you claim to read...one would think that EVENTUALLY...alittle proper GRAMMAR & SPELLING would rub off. Also, I don't know (or in your words, "NO") where you get your facts...but LINCOLN did indeed temporarily abandon HABEUS CORPUS in MARYLAND. Reason: MARYLAND surrounds WASHINGTON D.C. MARYLAND was a BORDER STATE and had many CONFEDERATE SYMPATHIZERS. He would have been a fool to allow WASHINGTON D.C to be COMPLETELY SURROUNDED by CONFEDERATE INSURRGENTS. Once the war was won...he reestablished HABEUS CORPUS.

OMG !!! You've got to be either INCREDIBLY IGNORANT or a COMPLETE MORON (in which case...you're forgiven) to not realize that DUBYA definately belongs in the BOTTOM 5. I know that most BAD PRESIDENTS hang on to some hope that HISTORY will VINDICATE them. That's happened only once in American HIstory, w/ HARRY TRUMAN. Most Presidents have at least ONE MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT that they can hang their hat on. On that count, DUBYA is in the RED. Not only was he INCOMPETENT, but DUBYA & his SUBORDINATES COMPLETELY IGNORNED OUR CONSTITUTION (w/ the BLESSING of the REPUB CONGRESS). He SCREWED-UP at HOME & ABROAD. In 100 years...I predict that DUBYA will LOSE GROUND...and will be considered THE WORST, MOST INCOMPETENT PRESIDENT in AMERICAN HISTORY.

Shows how little these folks actually no..Lincoln was a dictator, He wasn't against slavery he was against it spreading, He locked up the entire Maryland state legislator because they were going to vote to suceed. He had the one representative from I think Ohio deported. he did away with habeous corpus... and the only reason he dsigned the emancipation proclomation was to cause the COnfederate Soldiers to have to go home and hunt down the slaves. But geez God forbid these experts read a history book. Don't believe me, check the facts.

PARDON ME, but is the LOW RATING for the same Richard Nixon who ENDED the Viet Nam war, brought the POWs home, opened the door to China and, by resupplying them, SAVED ISRAEL. The man who beat McGovern 520 ELECTORAL votes to 17. Every month that President Nixon there were FEWER and FEWER troops in Viet Nam...One of the worst...DON'T THINK SO!!!!!

And to be honest with you, Lincoln was the only president to suspend habeus corpus -our personal liberties, closed down the free press and waged war on a democratically elected government. He is the closest thing to a dictator this country has had and cost the lives of over 650,000 Americans. There would still have been a USA but with a neighbor, the CSA.====================================No, Brazil did not recognize the CSA...again, no foreign government recognized them. What the confederate states did was against the constitution of the U.S. and was therefore illegal. Lincoln did what was neede to maintain the union...those lives could have been saved if the southern states hadn't broken the law. those democratically eleceted official were not part of any nation and the elections meant nothing because of it.
