(May 20) -- Bitsy may be itty bitty, but her owner doesn't know yet if she's the world's smallest kitty.

The cat's owner, Auriette Lindsey of Pensacola, Fla., is trying to find out if her feline friend can snatch the Guinness Book of World Records title for the World's Smallest Cat, WEAR-TV reported.
Bitsy is 1.5 pounds, six and a half inches tall and 18 and 3/4 inches long.
"It all has to be done very officially," Lindsey told WEAR-TV. "They wanna see video; they wanna see pictures of the measuring to make sure it was all done correctly."
Bitsy, who Lindsey described as "very demanding," is the offspring of normal-sized cats, and came from a litter of normal size cats.
Lindsey said the current record holding cat lives in Louisiana and weighs in at 3 pounds -- but is not as long as Bitsy.
Guinness will take six weeks to determine which cat is the smallest.
