This comment is addressed to Mr. HedgeTbet. I would like to see you try to beat a wrinkled (as you say) Nam vet's ass. As a matter of fact, why don't you come to Elsmere, Ky and see me. I won't be hard to find. I am the one-legged, paralyzed Nam vet in the wheelchair decorated with the "Stars and Stripes. You had better bring your friends with you, 'cause it's gonna take more than you to do it, you sorry ungrateful pup!!! Then again, maybe you better not, because my 2 older sons who are in the U.S. Marine Corps will be wanting a piece of your a**, also. But, hey, if you feel froggy, just jump. I'll be waiting for you.

My husband proposed to me at the Tower of London, with Tower Bridge (yeah, the one everyone calls London Bridge) in the background, he almost proposed in the torture chamber but changed his mind (ha ha, little did he know the torture he was in for - just kidding). Anyway, the guy proposed in the statue of liberty because he knew it would be incredibly romantic and memorable, he didn't do it for liberty or historical reasons, just romance. We need more of that in this depressing economy, and the future bride and groom will never forget that day AND they put a smile on the faces of the other people who were knackered by the climb up the stairs!

The statue of Liberty has absolutely nothing to do with "Uniting Globally"Where does this 57 yo hare brain from Walnut Creek get her ideas? Also,it has nothing to do with immigration. The plaque at Liberty's feet was put there years after the statue was created.
