MY LITTLE FAMILY OWNS 1 DOG AND I CAT. THE CAT CAME FIRST, AN ORANGE TABBY MY DAUGHTER NAMED MILO. AFTER THE MOVIE CAT IN MILO AND OTIS. NO, THE DOGS NAME IS NOT OTIS. MY DAUGHTER RECIEVED HIM FOR CHRISTMAS 3 YEARS AGO, A BORDER COLLIE/ BLUE HEALER MIX. HIS NAME IS SPIRIT AFTER THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS. AND MAN, DOES HE HAVE IT, A VERY ENERGETIC AND STRONG DOG. BOTH ANIMALS ARE LOVED VERY MUCH.

OK- I do like people names for animals- I have five- a dog named Zoey, a 17 y.o cat with a rather abrasive personality and tons of extra toes named Mei Lin (A nice chinese PEOPLE name), Aidan, Sandy (Named by a little girl who was hooked on Spongebob) and Zoey.

OK- I do like people names for animals- I have five- a dog named Zoey, a 17 y.o cat with a rather abrasive personality and tons of extra toes named Mei Lin (A nice chinese PEOPLE name), Aidan, Sandy (Named by a little girl who was hooked on Spongebob) and Zoey.

I have a lab mix named Toby that we adopted as a too young runt from the humane society (someone had ropped off his pregnant mother). Best. Dog. EVER. He's practically a person, the only thing missing are the aposable thumbs.

My cat was a stray from a previous residence, someone just dumped her. At the time I thought she was pregnant so I named her mama's. She is a tuxedo cat (black and white) and she wasn't pregnant (actually fixed) just a little chunky. She defends her turf but is mostly an indoor cat and I love her to pieces. She is great with children and very affectionate.........I posted ads in the lost and found and when no one claimed her when I moved she was and still is a big part of the family. :)

I leave my pets with the temporary names they had at the shelter for the first few weeks I have them, then choose a name for them after I've observed their behavior. I named one cat Scrounge after she had stolen several objects around the house to build a nest under my bed. I named another cat Underfoot because she followed me wherever I went, and if I ever needed to stop suddenly, I'd accidently trip over her. I named my current cat Little B*stard because during those first few weeks, I was shouting it so much as he was destroying everything in the house and driving underfoot crazy. But he's a good little kitty now, and we affectionately call him Elbee (L.B.).

I've got a Tortoise Shell cat named 'Purty'. I think it's pretty unique, I've never heard of it before my cat.

I have to ask.... SUZYM4599, did you edit the breed of your cat to Main **** cat or did AOL take it upon itself to do it? This is a beautiful breed of cat - they seem to be smarter than most other breeds. I'm probably more of a dog person but I could definitely live with an Old Maine **** cat, (I guess we'll find out now as I used the deleted word).

I have a thing for gods and goddesses so I decided to search for a name. My kitty had this wild eye about him so I discovered the name Ashur. It means warrior and the name suits him well.
