In part two of our interview (Catch Part One Here), the funnyman shares with us who would be his dream guest star on '30 Rock,' what he thinks about 'Saturday Night Live,' and how excited he is to perform stand up at Carnegie Hall. Watch It
What can we expect on '30 Rock' this season? "The same thing you got last year. Good funny stuff, those writers aren't running out of ideas anytime soon. I don't mean it to sound arrogant or nuttin' like that, but I love being on that show, and it's so easy to be on that show because those writers are so brilliant, and talented, all I have to bring is me to the table. You know, I don't have to bring no silverware, I don't have to bring no food, it's all there already. And they spread it out abundantly; Judah, Jack, everybody gets theirs - and I love that. The show is so balanced."
Who would be your dream guest star on '30 Rock'? "I couldn't leave nobody out. I mean, I accept and appreciate all the guest stars that want to come on the show, so for me to pick out one, I don't - I don't want to disappoint myself like that. You know? I shoot for the stars, but my dream guest, to be on '30 Rock', in all honesty, is not even alive anymore. Michael Jackson
Do you still watch 'SNL'? "I hosted it last year, and I think there's crazy talent there. I think their young people there are talented, and they are the next group that's gonna hold the candle."
Are you excited to perform stand up at Carnegie Hall? "This is the first time in my career I've ever really got to be me. I'm a very intense person, and I'm edgy, I'm a edgy person, but that's where I grew up at. And if you read the book that explains that. I grew up in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. There were no ponds and ducks in the back yard, there weren't none of that. There were none, of none of that. I come from a very - inner city New York kid, growing up in a very tough part of town, and I guess sometimes people misunderstand that, but I guess I'm always going to be misunderstood. My tombstone is gonna say, here lies Tracy Morgan, misunderstood. You know what I'm saying? 'Cause people take me being edgy, as angry, and I'm not. I have my frustrations just like you, but I'm intense, and I don't see myself as angry. I just see myself as a fat guy, with bad feet, and very passionate."
