Winter may be just around the corner, but the stars of the small screen just keep getting hotter, and in cumulative fashion. When it comes to the steamy factor, we've put together our picks for the shows with casts who sizzle at the highest temperatures, and want to know how you weigh in. (Speaking of "steamy," 'Grey's Anatomy' didn't make the cut! Sorry, kids!) We went for all age ranges, from the young and sexy city guys and gals of 'Gossip Girl' to the sophisticated and classy 'Mad Men' crew, plus a few personal favorites that we think deserve to be in the sexy elite. So huddle in close and after the jump, read why we picked these shows and then pick TV's sexiest cast.
Gossip Girl: With its glamorous gals and fashionable fellas, 'Gossip Girl' has launched a new generation of smoking hot TV stars. Bombshells Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr run New York City alongside chiseled hunks Chace Crawford and Penn Badgely. Even Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass has a certain scarf-and-a-sneer sex appeal you won't find anywhere else.
Mad Men: Even if 'Mad Men' were a one-man show starring Jon Hamm as an ad exec with a primitive webcam, it would qualify as having one of the best looking casts on TV. Called out by People Magazine for being among the sexiest men alive, Hamm has turned the impeccably suited, whiskey-for-breakfast Don Draper a veritable icon of Americana. Add to the mix the stunning Betty Draper played by January Jones, silver fox funny man John Slattery, and plucked-from-a-pinup-mag sexpot Christina Hendricks, and this choice is a no-brainer.
Rescue Me: Everyone knows that if you give a man a hard-hat and a hose he instantly becomes 10 times hotter. 'Rescue Me' is a steamy firefighter calendar come to life -- as Daniel Sunjata, Steven Pasquale and Mike Lombardi smolder on screen. But Denis Leary is Mr. January, playing tough-talking smoke jumper Tommy Gavin with all the bad boy appeal in the world.
House M.D.: There are few things in the world more swoon-inducing than a sexy, competent TV doctor. Hugh Laurie heads up this team of brainiac beauties on 'House,' injecting the curmudgeonly character with sex appeal you can't quite put your finger on. His team of hot docs includes Olivia Wilde, Omar Epps and the adorable on-screen couple Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison. Not to mention Lisa Edelstein, whose sensuous Dr. Cuddy is nearly bursting out of her tailored lab coat.
Friday Night Lights: 'Friday Night Lights' boasts the best of both worlds: Super hot young actors and actresses with super hot older actors and actresses cultivated deep in the heartland of America. Classic beauties like Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki, and Aimee Teegarden share the screen with corn-fed hunks including Taylor Kitsch and Zach Gilford. And for the extra point, there's the older duo of Kyle Chandler as Coach Taylor and his smoking-hot wife, played by Connie Britton. There must be something in that Dillon water.
