Osama said he'd win by destroying the American economy and he's making good his boast--and his buddies in Saudi Arabia are helping him bleed us dry. We should have been making cars that got 40 mpg all along but we all bought SUVs instead and now we are stuck. I don't drive my Town Car any more, I bought a smaller car that gets 35 mpg. I can afford gas but I refuse to waste trips and try to conserve whenever I can. We are all in this together.

Plenty of people are outraged. They just find it easier to whine online than to do what environmentalists in other countries do, namely take over the political process enough to get federal funding for real energy independence. Apparently the Greatest Generation, who won a war without a single computer, didn't have very gutsy grandchildren.

How interesting it is to see AOL removing posts from this topic every couple hours. I guess all corporate parents ARE afraid of offending Big Oil after all.
