Check out this Democrats.com piece, "Stop Bush's 'October Surprise' Attack on Iran":
Pentagon planners have moved from routine 'contingency' war plans to 'second-stage' war plans. And the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier U.S.S. Eisenhower and its accompanying strike force of cruiser, destroyer and attack submarine are sailing towards Iran.
Why would Bush want war with Iran? To prevent Democrats from sweeping the November elections, as all polls now predict.
"How would Bush start a war? By provoking an Iranian attack on U.S. forces - most likely by sending a U.S. warship near Iranian waters, or flying a U.S. warplane near Iranian airspace. After all, Bush planned to send a U.S. spyplane over Saddam Hussein's Iraq painted in U.N. colors to provoke an Iraqi attack that would get Bush the U.N. resolution he desperately wanted."
This story follows the earlier report at Democracy Now, last April. In it were these quotes from retired Colonel Sam Gardiner on Iran War Plans:
"The Issue is Not Whether the Military Option Would Be Used But Who Approved the Start of Operations Already"
Retired Air Force Colonel Sam Gardiner says a military operation has already begun inside Iran. Gardiner says,"It's a very serious question about the constitutional framework under which we are now conducting military operations in Iran."
We also speak with Gardiner about what he calls the "unprecedented" revolt against Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld within the military."
Additional reports indicate preparation by Israel to destroy suspected Iranian nuclear facilities. This complex of war plans requires only one thing:
THAT WE ACT NOW:
1. Tell your Representative to support Rep. Peter DeFazio's resolution requiring a Congressional vote prior to military action against Iran.
2. Join 60,000 people who have signed our petition.
3. Forward this to your friends.
4. Call talk shows and write letters to your newspaper - and don't hesitate to express your fear and anger.
5. Challenge your Congressional candidates to declare their opposition to a U.S. attack on Iran.
6. Register to vote immediately and vote on November 7.
8. Be prepared to march peacefully if the White House starts signaling an imminent attack on Iran. (*) Thanks to Democracy Now for the listings.

1. This conservative Republican is astonished and amazed at the false beliefs propounded by the Bush administration's artifices and intrigues to serve improperly those who have elected them.
Moderate and conservative priorities have always been fiscal responsibility, no foreign entanglements, government intrusion into a citizen's private life, concern for the environment, border and port security, and it goes on and on and on.
May the good Lord not abandon our great country in its time of greatest peril.

2. 2200+ dead American service men & women, while Iraq sinks deeper into civil war.
No real attempts at keeping N. Korea from testing a nuclear (or nucular, in Bushlandic) weapon.
Attacks from all directions on stemcell research and womens' reproductive rights, even though polls continue to show large majorities disagreeing with these actions.
Oil, pharmaceutical and mortgage companies, all reporting record profits. Meanwhile, Bush celebrates the Stock Market finally making it back to the level it was at, before he decimated it 6 years ago.
But how's this for a Bush legacy ...? Each and every one of those 6 years brought new record numbers for private, as well as business, foreclosures and bankruptsies.
Of course, this was to be expected. The White House did want to put too much effort into making the economy work.
The priority was to keep the public in a state of constant paranoia. And this effort paid off.
Each day, thousands of law-abiding Americans allow themselves to be treated like criminals, simply because they are flying from 'point a' to 'point b'.
Then, in a logical progression, since unwarranted searches at airports 'flew' with the paranoid public, the White House weasels moved on to warrantless wire taps and various other forms of spying on Americans.
Dumyah & the Bushettes (in Congress)ignored trusted military aids and did what no other politician (even Nixon) in our country's history would have dreamed to doing ... They rewrote the Geneva Covention.
(Past leaders had respect for the Geneva Convention. They realized that the USA not abiding by it would put Americans at a much greater risk in the future.)
Possible harm to Americans aside, these rats became the first congress, and, (for lack of a better term)president to allow service personel, BY LAW, to torture terror suspects. Not only is this unquestionably barbaric, it sentences future American soldiers to worse attrocities, should they be unlucky enough to fall into enemy hands.
Yes, mainstays of our Bill Of Rights, as well as cornerstones of our relationships with the world, have fallen by the wayside.
George W. Bush says that I am.
So why don't I feel "SAFER".
