136. Due to some infernal glitch, I had to watch two 30-second commercials to get your comment on Obama and Clinton as '08 presidential candidates. It just wasn't worth it, Sam. In fact, it wouldn't have been worth it with no commercials. I won't be back.

137. To be honest somebodyelse needs to be in office before Bush gets everyone's loved ones killed for no reason. We don't need to be all in other countries business like that. Let them people control their country the way they want to. You don't se them tryna come all into the U.S. like that do you? Bush just likes fighting just like his father. He just wants to finish what he started, and he probably started this s*** too......

138. Do you beleive that English should be designated as the only language to be spoke in public? Translator's are being paid for out of tax dollars. I am in law enforcement and find it very difficult to help, when about 5% of the homes I respond to, do not have a person that can speak english. This is dangerous and difficult, not to speak of the fact that any job dealing with the general public must hire spanish speakers, which lessens opportunities for the average english speaking american. I enjoy spanish, but think it best to require english. What are your feelings?

140. Did you actually play a Vulcan or a Romulin in the original Star Trek? Like an ambassador or some official? Or were you of mixed heritage like Spock? We grads here in the UNC Classics Department think you must have been a Romulin because you get sort of agitated sometimes--not much, but not cool for a Vulcan.

PS Go Bush! We're secretly on his side too, but some of the older faculty here are dinosaurs!

141. Dear President Bush,
As an American citizen who has watched politics since an early age, and has also been a former Republican Gubernatorial Candidate in California, I am saying directly to you, this election is all about you and your Administration. We Americans have given you opportunity after opportunity to shoot us straight and take us in another direction, and you keep on with your rhetoric and ignore the sound advice from many knowledgeable and experienced individuals. The sad part, you have done everything that caters to your own party and cronies, just to keep power. And, as history has shown us, bad decisions are bad decisions, and someone has to come behind you and clean up the atrocious mess you and your cronies have made.
You say this election isn't about you, but you truly know in your heart that you and your Republican cronies have been arrogant, dismissive, and ignored the sound advice of many. So please understand, it's time Americans stand up and hold you accountable for the mess all of you have created and replace you with individuals who will make the right decisions for all Americans.
The 400 plus billion you have spent on this war for your father, should have been spent here at home. It should have been spent on healthcare, schools, alternative energy sources, illegal immigration, protecting our ports, and a slew of other programs that would have helped and protected Americans here at home. And, the worst part, as I heard one mother say, you have no idea how it feels to have a child in Iraq and never knowing what to expect and when to expect it. If you and Dick Cheney would have ever had the experience in Vietnam, I am sure you would have made different decisions. Unfortunately, as we all know, that never happened.
I am very sorry if I seem harsh, but the truth is the truth and reality is reality.
Americans, Republicans and Democrats alike, we should take this experience and realize the importance of being a true President of all the people rather than being a President for your cronies and your own party. This experience has shown us what happens when your loyalties don't lie where they should lie. This Administration's arrogance and shortsightedness has us in probably one of the worst situations our great Country has ever seen. So please, realize the dire situation we are in and when you walk in that booth to vote, vote for a change for our future. If you don't, I promise you, looking back at what has happened, fear and doubt will continue for all of us about our future.
So, in closing, Mr. President, this election is everything about you and you're cronies. I hope that everyone who reads this realizes that by you saying that this election isn't about you, it validates the fact that you are all about retaining power, and nothing about what's right for America and her children.
Sincerely,
Jim Vandeventer, Jr.
Former CA Republican Gubernatorial Candidate

WHEN DID HOLLYWOOD BECOME SO SMART ?
OPRA,SHEEN, MARTIN SHEEN,DIDN'T HE ALMOST KILL HIMSELF A NUMBER OF TIMES ON DRUGS, SURE I'M GOING TO LISTEN TO HIM HE CAN'T MAKE AND EASY CHOICE STAY OFF DRUGS ,BUT HE IS GOING TO TELL THE COUNTRY HOW TO VOTE.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME ANYBODY FROM HOLLYWOOD EVER SERVED IN COMBAT,WORLD WAR TWO?I'M A STAR.
HOLLYWOOD BRAGS HOW THEY WAITED TABLES AND CAME UP THE HARD WAY. IF THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE BRAINS TO TAKE A GOOD PAYING JOB TILL THEIR BREAK CAME I GUESS THEIR NOT SMART ENOUGH TO TELL MILLION OF PEOPLE HOW THEY SHOULD VOTE.
FREEDOM OF SPEECH HOLLYWOOD CLAMERS FOR. I GUESS ONLY IF YOUR A DEMOCRAT. I RECALL SOMEONE SAYING IF YOU WANT TO KEEP WORKING IN HOLLYWOOD YOU BEST KEEP IT TO YOURSELF IF YOUR A REPUBLICAN.I GUESS ITS TRUE ITS RARE IF NOT UNHERD OF TO BE ABLE TO NAME A FEW PEOPLE FROM HOLLYWOOD WHO SPEAK OUT FOR REPUBLICANS YOU BEST BE A BIG STAR.
IS THIS FAIR.
THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO VOTE THEIR WAY,BUT DON'T USE YOUR STARDOM TO SWAY YOUR AIR HEAD FANS TO VOTE YOUR WAY THAT IS FLAT OUT WRONG. AND THE MEDIA LETS THEM GET AWAY WITH IT ,WHY ?
AND WHY IS AND ACTOR EXCUSED FROM THE MILITARY ,OR IF THEY DID GO IN LIKE ELVIS.THEY END UP IN THE ENTERTAINMENT FIELD.NOT IN COMBAT.
A LOT OF GUYS IN COMBAT I'M SURE WERE GOOD AT SOMETHING ELES. I GUESS THEIR LIVES ARE LESS VALUABLE BECAUSE THEIR NOT STARS.
BEING IN THE MEDIA I'M SURE YOU WILL DODGE THESE QUESTIONS AS WELL. I WON'T EVEN BOTHER CHECKING BACK FOR A REPLY.

143. OMG it is so heartbreaking that most of the American public is so clueless that they will listen to the bs on public television instead of doing research and finding out the truth about what is going on in this world. Too lazy??? I don't agree with all the hoopla but my golly just do some research (and please not by public television!!!) I am not in favor of the war but gez we are doing soo much good. The bias on tv is sickening. The Iraq's love the Americans. Heaven forbid public tv show that. NO the freaking liberals want to show how bad we are trying to defend our country. Just let one of those tv stars (ie. sean penn, ben afflick, barbara striestand, etc.) leave their precious million dollar mansions and sleep in the trenches and defend our country. Yeah those mouthy rich bitches would have a whole different perspective on what is really going on. Oh but no it is so easy to complain about how terrible things are from their million dollar mansions while our beloved military leave their families and fight for a cause they belive in. OUR FREEDOM!!! OUR SECURITY!!!! THANK GOD We live in a county that allows FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!! THANK OUR MILITARY!!!! Freedom of Religion! THANK OUR MILITARY!!!! The fact that you have food on your table THANK OUR MILITARY. a bed to sleep in THANK OUR MILITARY while those men and women give up their privilege to sleep in their beds with their families SO YOU WHINING PEOPLE CAN COMPLAIN!!!! I LOVE MY MILITARY PERSONEL AND ALL THEIR FAMILIES AND THEIR SACRIFICES!!! so you whining people have the privilege to b and complain. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESSS THE USA!!!!

144. Given Bush's audacity, or political savvy stating that the Republicans will dominate congress, which conflicts with the war in Iraq that is now a civil war, how does he continue to influence elections? My analysis is that Bush like the novel "1984" uses "doublethink" to hoodwink the public. Furthermore, Republicans spout the same rhetoric, almost as a religious chant!
Stan Morganstein at 3:26AM on Oct 26th 2006
145. Vickie, I'm afraid you're wrong! We DON'T have freedom of speech anymore now that Bush and congress have voted down "habeas corpus"! This means that if you say anything negative about anything that doesn't go alone with what King George wants then they can put you in prison or worse! All that our forefathers and GI's fought for will cease! Check it out! It's like nazi Germany and Hitler during and before WWII!

147. I have worked in private the private sector for 35 years. None would keep an employee group as inefficient and ineffective as our congress. Why can't we get competent people to serve? We all basically know the problems and often the solutions.
Stan at 4:11AM on Oct 26th 2006
148. Sam,
Why are we in Iraq? Why is it worth the cost As Bush says? We have over 2500 Dead soldiers. thousands wounded, 300 or 400 thousand dead Iraqi's, what do we gain as a country from all this? I want to know why all this is worth it, and how can we win anything in Iraq?
Mike Lanham at 4:07AM on Oct 26th 2006
149. Do YOU honestly believe there is a good enough reason for our men and women to be losing their lives in this horrible war? What do you think the historical comments will be concerning it and what do you think it will accomplish, (if anything!)? Perhaps my views are still influenced by my memories of Vietnam. I wonder if Bush believes enoough in His cause that he would be willing to send HIS children to fight and sacrifice their lives?

150. I would like to just state that the sincere thoughts of many people I know as well as myself,....the cost of one cruise missle to take out Saddam...is cheaper than the cost of one day our country is paying for iraq. I was in Grenada 23 years ago and granted the situation was much different...the job was done in 8 days......the occupation lasted for 1 and a half years in support of the people and it only took about 250 soldiers...I was there...and if I had a chance to make Iraq different it would have taken one shot....one kill and 3000+ less american lives! god bless our soldiers and the families of those lost and injured......God bless this country in november,2008.....are we there yet?
