106. Today I watched the president say"we are winning the war." My take on that statement is"how can we possibly be winning the war, when his own general in charge just came to DC to discuss a new stragegy, for the ones we've used thus far AREN'T

108. In past elections, where Diebold voting machines were used, I heard people say they watched their vote on the machine tally up totally different from the way they had actually voted. Therefore, isn't there a way we can get back to pen & paper votes only nation wide? USA is only country that uses the machines!

109. This whole thing has smelled bad from the get go so I try not to look into it cause it just make me mad. Don't get me wrong,, I support out troop 1000% Just not the commander and chief.
I have several points to bring up:
(1) I think we are mistaken, as a country, if we think we can “give” any peoples democracy or freedom. Every place where it exists it has been paid for dearly,, by the people.
(2) It is clear that these peoples do not share our values. Yes, they had a tyrant heading that country and he was responsible for mass murders and other atrocities against other sects in that country. However, we are finding out that they are all like that and the other sects will to the same given half the chance. They think differently. And we, the bearers of democracy and freedom, should let them be free to choose different values instead of trying to impose ours on them.
(3) From my limited view It appears to me that the majority of Iraqi’s don’t want our values and don’t really want us there. How else could these insurgents and other oppositional forces disappear into the population unless the population itself is willing to absorb them?
(4) Lets face it,, this is not a war on terrorism,, we all know that by now. The war on terrorism was the reason they used to go over there and I’m still in aw that the majority of the American public didn’t see it when it was first happening.
(5) Now Bin Laden,,, he was behind the hit on 9/11. And, he did say he would do it again given the chance. Hey George, I’m a New Yorker and I wanna know why are we pussy footing around in Iraq when this Bin Laden character is still drawing breath on God’s earth?
Since the beginning we have been bombarded with how we are winning this war; Right up till the other day when I heard part of a broadcast reporting on the up swing of violence in Baghdad and the climbing number of troops killed lately that said " and if that happens, all may be lost" in regards to the war in Iraq. All May Be Lost? WTF? How did we go from wining to all may be lost over night? This thing smelled bad in the beginning and it still stinks.
Sincerely.

110. Sam, You obviuosly support the liberal cause. Yes Bush has made a mistake in educating the public about what a war really takes to win! The public does'nt realize history will repeat itself if we don't succeed in the war on terror! We more or less will be abunch of slaves to mid east supresion as they have done in the past. Instead of bashing Bush you should educate the public to have patience during a war. Rome was'nt built in a day and Iraq won't either. Maybe you also don't really study history as well. In the american civil war over 10000 people we're killed in a single day on a few occasions. In world war II thousands were killed in a couple of days. In Iraq 2800 men in four years is pretty darn good. I feel for those family members but it's a good cause for the right reasons. Otherwise those terriosists will be in our country telling us what to do or killing us in the Name of Alla ! So as a jounalists are you going to educate the american simpletons or are you going to lead them off the so called cliff. Make the public understand what it really takes to win a war to preserve our freedom in America. Before the terriosists are here & dictate to us how life should be! Thanks Ken

111. Everyone is talking about a possible Barack Obama presidential run..my question is this...no democratic candidate has won the presidency without help from the south.." what do you think of a John Edwards / Barack Obama ticket? " Assuming that ticket could win; that gives Obama 8 yrs as the # 2 guy ( he would only be 53 and a relatively young man ) and time for the country to get used to the idea of an African American running for president.

112. Dear Sam, miss your tough questioning at presidential news conferences. What I would like to know is why doesn't some reporter nail Bush down as to why he quit going after Osama Bin Laden and decided to invade Iraq.It seems to me that it was Bin Laden who attacked us and not Hussein. If he was so bent out of hell to knock off Hussein he could have done it after he took care of Bin Laden and he wouldn't be so unpopular today. Someone should get a straight answer out of him Thank you.

113. Not until we have shared sacrifice in this war would the people of this country support the president in his efforts to convince us that the war is worth the the blood and treasure of our nation. In time of war everybody should make some form of sacrifice not only the soldiers and their families .

114. Because of the bungling of the war that Bush has done and the fact that he has sent many men to the slaughter he should be impeached. According to the the polls I have seen of Bush his rating is down in the cellar. He is the worst President this country has ever had and it is time (and overdue) that he should either resign or be impeached without question.

115. Why is it not illegal for our president and vice president to make money from this war? I always thought this constituted 'conflict of interest'.
Also, I thought conducting business behind closed doors violated the Sunshine laws. No one seems to be asking questions regarding the private business interests of our leaders.

116. This country does not need Osama running for President or any other office to be held in the United States. I do not know for sure what his stance is on terrorism or if he is a disguised terrorist but to be on the safe side he, or any others like him, should have nothing to do with politics at all. The best place for them is in the raghead countries.

117. MILLIONS OF MEXICANS ARE ESCAPING FROM THE POVERTY OF THIER HOMELAND. THEY ENTER THE USA WITH MANY DISEASES, LIKE, TB, DIFFERENT HEPITITIS, ETC.
SHOULD WE HAVE REFUGEE CAMPS LOCATED ALONG THE BORDER? WE COULD SCREEN FOR ILLNESS AND TREAT THEM, WE COULD FEED THEM AND GIVE FLUIDS. THEN THEY COULD BE PROCESSED AND OFFER THEM A JOB IN SUCH AND SUCH CITY OR TOWN AND GIVE THEM TRANSPORTATION.
THIS SEEMS MORE HUMANE THAN WHAT THEY HAVE TO ENDURE COMING HERE IN ILLEGALLY.

118. How do you go to a war where "life" is not cherished? If children are killing and this cultre will die for allah then it is not a war it is a "killing field." We cannot change thousands of years of fighting and we sold some of these countries the weapons that they have to turn on ourselves. It is going to be a "forever war." all with three words "act of war" 9/11 had to ha[[en tp get that power into one man's hands.
