Fox was in Chicago Tuesday to support House candidate Tammy Duckworth. In their report on the actor's local appearance, CBS2chicago.com interviewed neurologist Dr. Thomas Kelly. He says Limbaugh doesn't have his facts straight: 
Right wing zealot and radio talk show hack Rush Limbaugh has accused actor Michael J. Fox of "acting" or being "off his meds" in a nationally televised ad, for the purpose of sensationalizing his Parkinson's disease. The campaign spot is in support of Missouri Senate candidate Claire McCaskill's support for legislation to garner funding for stem cell research.
Fox's disease has progressed where he no longer only gets tremors, which can be controlled with medication, but has more erratic movements which are caused directly by his medicine.
"Chaotic, maybe writhing, dance-like movements, or dyskinesia, the movements I've seen in Mr. Fox, are due to his medications," said Dr. Kelly.
Limbaugh, referring to the TV ad, said on his syndicated show, "He did not take his medication for the purposes of having the ravages and the horrors of Parkinson's disease illustrated."
Fox addressed the controversy: "I'm kind of lucky right now. It's ironic, given some of the things that have been said in the last couple of days, that my pills are working really well right now."
Limbaugh, who has a habit of taking illegal drugs for which he was NOT jailed, has once again dipped into the political cesspool to further energize the Republican base against science over religious superstition, which we all know is the intellectual energy source of Bush Think.

76. my dad suffered from parkinsons desease for 12 yrs, he never swayed back and forth like fox in this commercial. parkinsons desease will cause very sever shaking of hands and will slur your speach after a degree of time and yes cause your upper body region to skake but not to degree foxs was in this commercial. im all for any research that will cure parkinsons , but fox did a very diservice to those that have the disease. instead of supporting political canidates he would be more effective by donating more of his easily gotten money from hollywood to parkinsons research.

If you believe that your man on the radio has a mainstream viewpoint then ask yourself this. How many 40+year old four time divorcees with a drug addiction do you know in your personal life?
It is obvious that Rush is a miserable loser. Not all losers are financially destitute therefore his fortune is not a valid counter-point to my argument. Many losers have such low self esteem that the only way they can level the emotional playing field with the rest of us is to start cutting the other people off at the knees. This has been the method used by this miserable anti-social, misanthropic fool since he was a high school teen that never left his bedroom and spent his time pretending to be a radio announcer.
If not for the fact that his family is one of the more wealthy families in his hometown of Cape Girardeau Mo. with financial interests in local radio; This loser would be another addict surviving on the streets somewhere looking desperately for his next drug score.
Rush is simply put just another loser that got lucky. His chronic abuse of vicodin and oxycontin prove that he has a problem with his psyche and can not cope with himself and his lies.I would strongly advise all of you to quit listening to the bum and his lies and try to rise above his dirt.

My Husband was diagnosed at age 40 with Parkinson's Disease> His quality of life at age 43 is almost non exsitant!
He can not walk more than a slow shuffle, he can not run or climb stairs at all and worst of all he is unable to play ball with our 3 very young boys!!!
The physical pain, the tremors and the constant embarassment of being unable to even hold a fork to eat or even write a check plagues him every single day.
What Micheal J. Fox is working towards is a CURE! A Godsend and possibly an end to the suffering for anyone who has been struck down with this horrific disease.
Only the people with PD and their loved ones can truly know. The stress, the sadness and the depression are all just the begining of a life sentence with a light at the end of a very long tunnel called Stem Cell Research and Mr. Fox is just one of those people working to make this cure happen!
Limbaugh has NO IDEA and no RIGHT to say anything about PD or it's victims!!!
I wonder would he approach a person in a wheel- chair and say: "hey looks like your acting to get attention"! or what about a Downs Syndrome person? Are they "acting" and do they have a political adjenda as well?

John Edwards did the same trick when he claimed that he would make Christopher Reeves walk again! This is EXACTLY what Ann Coulter was refering to when she stated that Dems use people like Fox so that there can be no rebuttal without fear of being labeled as anti whatever by the left.
BTW Dems; where is YOUR "tolerance" now for the opinion of Limbaugh? Is this portrayal of visceral hatred in this message area contrary to your ALLEGED "tolerance?" The way I see it, tolerance by the left is only for those who think like the left does OR for the enemies of the US so as to distance yourselves from those who bolster the war effort. 82. Although I am a fan of Rush Limbaugh's, and an opponent of stem cell research in its present form, I do believe Mr. Limbaugh is overstretching his derogatory remarks regarding Michael J. Fox... I have had an aunt die of parkinson's, a father die of Lymphoma, two sisters and a cousin wit Multiple Sclerosis. They would do anything and grasp at straws if it meant a chance for a cure or survival. I do believe that is exactly what Michael J. Fox is doing. I do not believe he is acting, since I have seen the affects first hand of parkinson's.. I do believe that he is grasping at the progress of stem cell research in curing and prolonging life. having just served in the middle east, I am very aware of the fragile lives we live.

90. Limbaugh has already apologized, even though he really doesn't need to. MJF admitted himself he'd go off the meds for the hearing and commercial taping, to show what he deals with everyday. Exploitation? He's just a man who is trying to help himself anyway he can. I don't fault him, or Limbaugh's comments. RL's comments were that "MJF must be off his meds..", was accurate.
