Senator Kerry,
For nearly thirty-five years, veterans have had to put up with false charges, degrading comments and scandalous accusations from you and we are sick of it.
During the Winter Soldier hearings in which you accused U.S. servicemen of atrocities against civilians including rape and murder, you besmirched the reputation of the world's greatest fighting force.
Now, during a different war, you have the nerve to say this: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
Think about what the man is saying. He's essentially saying that those who are in Iraq are uneducated, dumb, non-studying losers who volunteered for the military because they are too stupid for anything else. Kerry has come out today and used the blame Bush card, which makes no sense. He's intimating that he meant Bush getting stuck in Iraq. Either way you look at it, he's screwed up; if he actually meant what it sounds like he meant about the troops in Iraq, that's despicable and he should never have the chance to be President, if he meant Bush in Iraq, he could have said that, which means he's too damn stupid to be President.
Either way Senator, most of us who enlisted voluntarily in the armed forces of the US did so because we believe in the inherent good of this country and democracy. We have a sense of patriotism that cannot be explained to the likes of you. As I've said previously, you were no longer one of us when you smeared us for political benefit with false and hideous accusations. Don't ever say you are a veteran again Senator. You don't deserve the title and have proven it once again. I speak for one veteran--myself, and must say that you disgust me.
Every so often, the mask comes off and liberals say exactly what they think. This is one of those moments. A sitting U.S. Senator slipped and said exactly what the left thinks about the U.S. military men and women. They are stupid, jingoistic murderers who are only in the military because they are not smart enough to do anything else. Thanks for the insight, Senator. As for the rest of the political left, spare me the "we support the troops, but" rhetoric, we all know you don't mean it and Kerry has ust proven it to us.

1. As a Viet Nam era veteran, I am amazed how quickly we forget the realities of Viet Nam, when the privileged (and smartest?...Bush, Cheney,Rumsfeld, and yes, Clinton and so many in our current Congress) used college to dodge the draft AND Viet Nam! So who mostly went to Nam? Very few or our current leader/warmongers...who never stop to think: Only the dead know the true cost of war.

2. The fact is -for the most part soldiers are not college graduates.
There is no offence in Kerry's statement and he also spoke the truth about Vietnam. Why is there such angry adamant denial of the truth?

3. Senator Kerry obviously does not hold any pride within himself fo serving his country in Viet Nam. I totally agree with the comment in the letter of how the Dems will come out with their hidden thoughts every so often where I come from we call that a brain fart Kerry does it Hillary will do it and they all are guilty of it at one time or another. Putting that aside I would like to say that it is very easy for everyone to critisize what President Bush is doing but not so easy to actually be the one doing it. Republican or Democrat the Presidency of the most powerful country in the world is not a job that just anyone can do or would want. After all when a man takes that oath they dont hand him a magic wand. But what he is handed is 60% of the problems facing the world today, quite a load wouldnt you say. I guess the point im trying to put across is that the job of President of the US is not one to be taken lightly and it sure aint easy so why dont we all stop being so critical because I really dont think that any one of us or any one of these politicians Democrats and republicans alike can do it any better that the guy thats doing it right now. And at least he has respect for the military personnel who keep this country free. President Bush isnt doing the wrong thing in Iraq, He is doing the right thing he is keeping the fight on their turf where all of us Americans would rather have it. By keeping a military presence in the middle eastern region the people of that region are on gaurd for their own countries not making plans to come in and destroy ours. We as a country of free people need to maintain military might and control in the world , remember Pearl Harbor. We have experienced the surprise sneek attack scenario twice, I dont think we want it again. Lets all begin to hold our military personnel in the highest regard because without them you are not free you are under attack and nothing is more satisfying than bringing down Goliath. There are very few countries in this world that wouldnt want to see us destroyed (inclding the French) so as an american the only time I feel safe is when I know that the military force of the greates country in the worl is on patrol for me and my fellow countrymen. God bless all of our fighting men and God be with them in all their duties. God bless their families and keep them safe they are in my prayers daily.

4. I AM HAPPY TO SAY THAT AS A MASS RESIDENT, I HAVE NEVER VOTED FOR MR.KERRY, AND SO LONG AS TRASH KEEPS SPEWING FROM HIS MOUTH, I WON'T EVER VOTE FOR HIM TO SAVE HIS LIFE.MR KERRY, YOU ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE U.S. MILITARY, THE U.S. GOV'T AND TO THE "REAL" AMERICAN PEOPLE! YOU, LIKE JIMMY CARTER SHOULD BE EXPELLED FROM THIS COUNTRY. IF YOU CANT RESPECT US AMERICANS AND EXPRESS
THE WILL OF US TRUE AMERICANS, YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR SORRY OPINIONS TO YOURSELF!

5. I am proud that Chad Noel, a resident of Mass. has the courage to disavow his elitist Senator. Shame on John Kerry and shame on any Democrat that doesn't have the courage to disavow the comment by Mr. Kerry. All of those courageous Swift Boat Veterans who campaigned so vigorously against him are again vindicated today. Mr. Kerry has no regard for the feelings and morale of the military, and in the future they, the brave and patriotic men and women in uniform, will have little or no regard for the far-left left and their elitist ideas of education and the best way to protect our American freedoms. Again, shame on Mr. Kerry and all those who will not criticize his offensive comments.

7. I think Kerry is nothing but a cry baby. I used to be a Democrat and I am not proud of it. I am sick of the way they refuse to support our President and run down the brave men and women serving to keep our country free. It is time the Democrats woke up and realized if we don't fight the war over there, we fight it here. Why not try to use some common sense and stop crying because you lost the election and things are not the way they want them. Wake UP! No one wants war, but it has been around since the beginning of time and will continue to be around until the Prince of Peace comes on the scene. In case you don't know, The Prince of Peace is Jesus Christ.

8. DOES KERRY THINK THAT BY SLANDERING THE GI'S THAT WERE IN VIET NAM IT WILL GET HIM ELECTED TO ANY OFFICE AGAIN? HE LOST BEFORE BACAUSE HE CHOOSE TO USE OUR BRAVE GI'S TO WIN THE PRESIDENCY. HE WRONGFULLY READ AMERICAN VOTERS AS STUPID ENOUGH TO BELIEVE HIS LIES. NOW HE WANT TO DRAG THESE MEN INTO HIS LIES AGAIN. HOW CRUEL. IF HE HAD ANY PROOF HE WOULD HAVE VINDICDATED HIMSELF LAST ELECTION. I ADVISE MR. KERRY TO KEEP QUIET AS HE JUST MAKES A FOOL OF HIMSELF. AS A CATHOLIC I RESENT HIS USING MY RELIGION TO GAIN VOTES. HE SHOULD BE EXCOMMUNICATED FOR MOST OF HIS POSITIONS ON IMPORTANT LIFE ISSUES. THAT IS WHY HE LOST LAST TIME. MR. KERRY PLEASE DON'T RUN AGAIN AS I CAN'T TAKE A REPEAT OF THE LAST ELECTION.

9. It seems to me that Mr Kerry's comments only brings to light the liberal true feeling of the military. Why doesn't the american people realize that Iran is behind Iraq's troubles. The Democrates are only helping the Iran and Islam nut cases. Every time they speak up, all of there comments are run all day long in the Arab world.
They are truly un-american. If this was 1944
they would be put in jail and may-be shot.
If they hate America that much, then leave and go to France

10. I think John Kerry was right in everything he said. The republicans will make a mountain out of a mole hill just to push their point. Guess what republicans you are so wrong. How can Bush give his choice about the war when he has no idea. He never fought a day in his life. Instead he fought to get out of the war. The same goes for Chenny and the rest of the republicans that cry. The americans are sick and tired of this group trying to run Washington. We need a new government. I would vote for Mickey Mouse if he was running rather than give any republican a vote.

11. Dear Sen. Kerry,
As a retired CSM (E9) I deeply resent not only your attitude but your smugness in depicting the military as some woe begone lost illiterate. I spent a goodly portion of my life serving this country proudly and with distinction through three wars and that includes the Cold War when the Intelligence and Security Service that I was in was being man-handled by politicians willing to break the backs of servicemen for personal gain. Your remarks were uncalled for - the military that I remember was and is the finest group of individuals anywhere in this world. If some of these so-called intellectuals such as yourself were to spend as much time up-lifting patriotism instead of downgrading others this "old" world would be a whole lot safer. Incidentally I also have an earned doctorate but patriotism was something that I was weaned on and proud of.

12. HEY REPUBLICANS! WAKE UP OUT THERE!
HOW MANY US SOLDIERS DIED THIS MONTH AND FOR WHAT?
KERRY HAS A RIGHT TO HIS OWN OPINION AND SPEAK HIS MIND.
LETS SEE HOW MANY POLITICIANS ARE SPEAKING OUT AGAINST THE WAR?
OH YEA, ITS NOT RIGHT, WE HAVE TO SUPPORT THE TROOPS. BOK-BOK BOK!
Dave at 8:05AM on Nov 1st 2006
13. The Kerry Anti-MIlitary comments over the past 40 years should finally show the Voters in Mass. that they need to replace him at the next election or demand that he is recalled NOW. How can Kerry be permited to continue bashing the Troops? Throw the Bum out!!!
Dennis Wade at 8:05AM on Nov 1st 2006
14. If Mr Kerry thinks he is going to win an election by slandering our fine troops, he is sadly mistaken. For every troop that is in Iraq, there is all there famley members at home pulling for them, praying for there safe trip home, and they would NEVER vote for some one that said they were not very smart or they would not be there. And I think he (Mr. Kerry) owes them all an apopogy.
Pamela S at 8:05AM on Nov 1st 2006
15. I think that Kerry is a joke. If I remember correctly he couldn't make a decision on his standings of his opinions in the last election. He flip flopped to try to have his opinion accepted by what ever group he was talking to at the time and now he totally insults our military. He also claims to be a war hero. Ha. Maybe if he hadn't married so well he wouldn't be where he is now.
And as far as Republicans making a mountain out of a mole hill, do you truly believe the democrats don't do the same thing. We may not all agree on the war but no matter what we need to support our troops that put their lives on the line every second of every day that they are there. Is America suppose to just let other countries do as the please and not take a stand. I can honestly say I would hate to think what the situation would be if Kerry had won the last Presidential election. Would we have just put our tail between our legs and hid like cowards?
