Senator Kerry,
For nearly thirty-five years, veterans have had to put up with false charges, degrading comments and scandalous accusations from you and we are sick of it.
During the Winter Soldier hearings in which you accused U.S. servicemen of atrocities against civilians including rape and murder, you besmirched the reputation of the world's greatest fighting force.
Now, during a different war, you have the nerve to say this: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
Think about what the man is saying. He's essentially saying that those who are in Iraq are uneducated, dumb, non-studying losers who volunteered for the military because they are too stupid for anything else. Kerry has come out today and used the blame Bush card, which makes no sense. He's intimating that he meant Bush getting stuck in Iraq. Either way you look at it, he's screwed up; if he actually meant what it sounds like he meant about the troops in Iraq, that's despicable and he should never have the chance to be President, if he meant Bush in Iraq, he could have said that, which means he's too damn stupid to be President.
Either way Senator, most of us who enlisted voluntarily in the armed forces of the US did so because we believe in the inherent good of this country and democracy. We have a sense of patriotism that cannot be explained to the likes of you. As I've said previously, you were no longer one of us when you smeared us for political benefit with false and hideous accusations. Don't ever say you are a veteran again Senator. You don't deserve the title and have proven it once again. I speak for one veteran--myself, and must say that you disgust me.
Every so often, the mask comes off and liberals say exactly what they think. This is one of those moments. A sitting U.S. Senator slipped and said exactly what the left thinks about the U.S. military men and women. They are stupid, jingoistic murderers who are only in the military because they are not smart enough to do anything else. Thanks for the insight, Senator. As for the rest of the political left, spare me the "we support the troops, but" rhetoric, we all know you don't mean it and Kerry has ust proven it to us.
Hot Air has numerous videos and has been updating this story all day long.

16. I think the reaction shows us Kerry meant what we all thought he meant. If it was indeed a botched joke, then you just say "I am sorry my statements were misinterpreted, it was a botched joke referring to the president. I regret that my statement appearred to demean our troops, this was not my intent."
But to call it nasty campaign tactics...and come out so filled with hate about the issue (we heard what we heard)...me thinks thou does protest too much.

17. Well, let think , for i believe that Senator Kerry was wrong saying to what he said. I think he should apologize to the troops and to there familes. I do believe that the President is doing a fine job.I am glad that he prays to the highest power up above. He answer all things. As for as these people saying this subject is I think they haven't been in service themselves, because they can't stand up and fight for there country. Pray every day that God keeps guiding the president the the way of peace, but the bible tells us that there is going to be wars an more wars , until you see the skies open up and see my Savior sitting on his throne.Yes, I'm a vietnam vet as well, there we more killed in Nam in a day , a lot more than today war. So by saying this i relly hope you search your heart out and pray for our troops return

19. Perhaps I am mistaken, but it certainly seems we have another 'left leaning entity' right here on AOL. It isn't enough that most news outlets show their slant to the left so transparently...but to not even be able to look at current issues from your internet carrier w/o such 'leaning' is really disappointing. I notice little things such as, for example: The pic of Mr Kerry is a relatively decent pic..while the one of Pres. Bush is one seemingly choosen to show him in a less flattering light. The wording of your "blog" on my home page and then again after clicking the link, also seems very slanted. I am a registered INDEPENDENT voter. I DESPISE the way that soooo many SO CALLED 'news organizations'(apparently including this one), have such biased stories...not even trying very hard to be subtle about their bias. I have seen this going on now for years and am utterly fed up!! This year I have decided that regardless of the candidate or issue, I will vote an entirely REPUBLICAN ballot as my way of PROTESTING. This UN-AMERICAN, UN-DEMOCRATIC, IL-INFORMING way that SO MANY MEDIA-MORONS have decided is an OK way to sway the general public is nothing short of shameful! Why are so many who stand on the liberal side SO afraid to put information out there EQUALLY??? I'd LOVE to have anyone try to say this isn't so. You'd have to be deaf and blind, nah, even then...you'd have to be DEAD and NOT BURIED IN THE U.S.A. to not have noticed this....or be DUMBER than DIRT! C'mon! How about some equallity in our media for a change??!!!! Don't we all, as Americans, deserve that from ALL of our media organizations??! I know, reality check...yes it will be a cold day in *$^%, before this will ever happen. This is why so many media-morons adore blind sheep.

22. Sen. Kerry deserves any and all forms of dishonor possible. He,in my opinion, has committed treason both with his post Vietnam actions and with his most recent statements. He is the personification of the liberal leftists who want to destroy our country. He should be removed from the Senate (along with Ted Kennedy, the college cheat and murderer)

23. I AM AMAZED THAT ANYONE COULD THANK JOHN KERRY FOR ANYTHING. HE IS A DISGRACE TO THE AMERICAN RACE. HE NEVER SPOKE A WORD OF TRUTH WHEN HE RAN FOR PRESIDENT WHAT MAKES YOU THINK HE WOULD NOW. AS FOR THE TROOPS NOT HAVING AN EDUCATION. IS IT THEIR FAULT? NO I HARDLY THINK THEY WANT TO BE WERE THEY ARE TODAY THAN HERE IN COLLEGE. THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIVES WILL NEVER HAVE A CHANCE TO GO TO COLLEE.MY HUSBAND SERVED IN THE ARMY NEARLY 26YRS AND THEN RETIRED AND RETURNED TO SCHOOL AND GOT 3 DEGREES. THANK OD HE HAD THE CHANCE,AND WASN'T KILLED IN VIETNAM, AND THE MANY PLACES HE FOUGHT.HE WAS SENT TO GERMANY FOR 3 TOURS OF SERVICE,AND HAPPY HE MADE IT HOME SAFELY TO US ALL.THESE YOUNG MEN TODAY HOPEFULLY WILL GET THAT CHANCE TO COME HOME AND RETURN TO COLLEGE IF THEY SO CHOOSE TO.BUT KERRY WAS WRONG IN HIS STATEMENT HE MADE AND SHOULD MAKE A PUBLIC APOLOGY TO ALL VETERANS FOR THAT SLANDER. HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR OTHERS.PERIOD!

30. Here's the deal guys........
Yes, Kerry could have said what he meant a bit more tactfully, HOWEVER
Many (if not most) of the guys and girls in the military are there not because they are stupid, but because they are poor. Frequently they are there to gain money for an education.
The real problem isn't the senators comments,so much as it is the economics of a country where the only people who are allowed an education, are the one's who can afford it.
As to the whole repugnican way of doing things......PLEASE STOP IT!!
