Senator Kerry,
For nearly thirty-five years, veterans have had to put up with false charges, degrading comments and scandalous accusations from you and we are sick of it.
During the Winter Soldier hearings in which you accused U.S. servicemen of atrocities against civilians including rape and murder, you besmirched the reputation of the world's greatest fighting force.
Now, during a different war, you have the nerve to say this: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
Think about what the man is saying. He's essentially saying that those who are in Iraq are uneducated, dumb, non-studying losers who volunteered for the military because they are too stupid for anything else. Kerry has come out today and used the blame Bush card, which makes no sense. He's intimating that he meant Bush getting stuck in Iraq. Either way you look at it, he's screwed up; if he actually meant what it sounds like he meant about the troops in Iraq, that's despicable and he should never have the chance to be President, if he meant Bush in Iraq, he could have said that, which means he's too damn stupid to be President.
Either way Senator, most of us who enlisted voluntarily in the armed forces of the US did so because we believe in the inherent good of this country and democracy. We have a sense of patriotism that cannot be explained to the likes of you. As I've said previously, you were no longer one of us when you smeared us for political benefit with false and hideous accusations. Don't ever say you are a veteran again Senator. You don't deserve the title and have proven it once again. I speak for one veteran--myself, and must say that you disgust me.
Every so often, the mask comes off and liberals say exactly what they think. This is one of those moments. A sitting U.S. Senator slipped and said exactly what the left thinks about the U.S. military men and women. They are stupid, jingoistic murderers who are only in the military because they are not smart enough to do anything else. Thanks for the insight, Senator. As for the rest of the political left, spare me the "we support the troops, but" rhetoric, we all know you don't mean it and Kerry has ust proven it to us.

31. Kerry's remark was stupid. But like the adage "sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me", they are only words. It is the actions of the administration that really hurt. They make the policies that put troops in positions like Iraq. It is the President and his cohorts that should be ashamed of themselves and depart from positions of authority. Its unfortunate that Kerry made this remark at this point and detract from many election issues. He really has cooked his goose!

32. If you just take the time to read (Mr.) Kerry's statement's and look at the poor usuage of language that he uses you really have to question how this man can even think he can run our nation. "a bunch or hacks" "end up serving in Iraq" etc. I served in Viet Nam with a college degree and joined the Army. I was not drafted. I have gone on to earn a Masters Degree in Theology and I am currently working on my PHD. How can anyone even suggest that everyone that serves is uneducated. Today's army is a volunteer army and is not made up of draftees that went to college to avoid the draft. They are some of the best trained and best educated young men that this country has to offer. Why did the choose to serve their country. For the same reason many and all who havejoined have done for centuries. Because we CHOOSE to servce our country. We CHOOSE to defend our and others freedom. CHOOSE to go where our commander and cheif sends us. We CHOOSE to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. I honestly believe the only time I would not CHOOSE to follow my Commander and Chief if he was John Kerry or one of these Liberal Democrats who are more concerned with giving away our nation and not supporting it.

34. John Kerry Who do you know in the history of this great country that has served in active duty for 3 months and has received 4 or 5 different distinquised awards. Do we need to know anything else. John Kerry resign from the Senate, you are a discrace to the American People.

35. It is a shame that Sen kerry isn't smart enough to understand that his comments are hurtful to our troops morale. It is even more stupid that he doesn't understand that a simple apology can take the heat off to some extent. Instead, he began the
usual(for him)doubletalk as to what he meant to say
and keeps changing the story!
What really bothers me is why Massachusetts voters
keep putting him (and his buddy, Teddy) back in office year after year.

36. Of all the responses and blogs I've read, few seem to understand--This isn't about botched jokes, Republicans vs. Democrats, Kerry vs. Bush, this is about authority and leadership. Isn't ANY Democrat tired of the way Kerry and his crew demean the very office he once sought? If he indeed was merely joking, perhaps this is a "wake up call": Don't joke about the Office of President of the United States. Kerry represents a portion of America that has always had an authority problem and this proves why he should NEVER be in authority.
By the way, Kerry voted FOR the war
in Iraq!! LEADERSHIP 101: Leaders need to "stay the course," not BAIL in the face of unanticipated challenges.

37. When I heard J. Kerry's speech, everything I have come to believe about the extreme liberals of our country were highlighted in my brain. Extreme Liberals turn a blind eye to danger out of FEAR. Its easier to say its not really happening than to take the offensive and fight for survival. God help each of us should our nation become led by extreme liberals. When these freedom hating terrorists see the open window and bring the bloodshed into our living rooms, it will be the defending Democrats once again at call to protect us. If there can be any solace in any of this..it is knowing that the terrorists will be looking first for the extreme liberals with higher education, as they will be caught on aware too busy with their dinner party ie heads in the sands. God Bless the stauch Democrats who don't need an edumuckation to know good from evil and that even their weakest will stand and fight for thier freedom. And yes, they will also look out for their liberal neighbor. This is not to say that we as democrats do not FEAR...it's simply that we learned to face our fears head on through honest hard work. Most of us were fed with stainless steel spoons. God Bless Our Troops of Future, Past and Present.

38. Now is a good time for voters to remember that they pick who represents them.
Use your vote to select quality representation.

39. Senator Kerry's comments were out of place and an insult to our armed forces. My former students who went to West Point, Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy and graduated and those who received their ROTC Officer commissioning were smart, intelligent and brave young men and many of them are serving now in the armed services in Iraq and other parts of the world. I salute my former students in the armed forces.

41. It's hard to add to those who have already commented on this American fifth-column leader, so all I'll do is ask a question. Why do Massachusetts voters keep re-electing people like him? They, at one time, did put up a good leader (JFK), but then they keep electing disgraces the likes of Kerry, and Teddy. The first, a loud mouth do nothing, (Check his performance, or lack thereof) as a 20+ year senator, and the fat killer drunk, Teddy. I believe that as long as voters tolerate people like these two, we deserve everything we get. Also,(GOD, I hope I'm Wrong) The Dems will win their majority this time, and then we will once again have to suffer through at least four more years of NO ideas, NO solutions, and NO morality. I consider myself a moderate Repub., and I WOULD vote for a Dem. who could show me some REAL leadership. Where the Hell is a JFK, an HST, or the greatest of them all, an FDR, when this country is in desperate need of them. No, we have to settle for these two clowns. As for Pres. Bush, he may not have all the answers, but at LEAST, he's in there trying, Why doesn't the Democratic party do likewise, and look for SOLUTIONS, not keep crying, just to get attention.

42. How many college students serving in the national guard were called to active duty and have served or now serving in Iraq? The rich show there true colors no matter which party they belong too.

43. I grew up in Massachusetts and during John Kennedy's term as President we were all proud to be Americans. I was raised in a Republican household but was a independent voter. Now we are dealing with the likes of Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean and the worse of all John Kerry. How dare he talk about our men in uniform not only serving in Irag but all over the world so these three men can park themselves in high offices and critize the President of the United States. You may not like George Bush but at least respect the office. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouths Mr. Kerry and not everyone is able to afford a college education as most of the people in this country work hard for a living pay their taxes and try to get ahead. I do not think when our men and women die in a war that God asks them if they had a college degree. To sum it all up your ranting and raving has again shown to people who the real John Kerry is and Thanks for the input.

44. Since John Kerry served (and I use that term loosely) our country in Viet Nam, are we to conclude that HE's not "smart enough" to have avoided service during that era?? If we do then he certainly is not fit to serve as senator let alone as the President. I, too, believe that he and the other Dems, who continue to viciously deride our President;mock and ridicule our wonderful, incredibly brave troops;undermine our efforts at protecting our nation;and encourage the very enemies who would destroy us,are traitors. They don't deserve the unique freedoms we enjoy which were secured and continue to be secured through the sacrifice of true patriots-- men and women willing to give up their most precious possession-their own lives-even for the likes of the "John Kerry's" of this country. Join me in praying fervently for the safety of our amazing troops.

45. You said it right here and Thank You for saying what I have been saying. When you said "which means he's too damn stupid to be President" But I see it as thats why "in his way of thinking "thats why in was in Vietnam, another war that was "fought by the less educated " But then Kerry was there too what does that tell you when you add in his anti war slams when he was safe at home and then add thi one, It ALL ADDS UP TO your right and I hope more people come to know it too " he's too damn stupid to be President"
