Senator Kerry,
For nearly thirty-five years, veterans have had to put up with false charges, degrading comments and scandalous accusations from you and we are sick of it.
During the Winter Soldier hearings in which you accused U.S. servicemen of atrocities against civilians including rape and murder, you besmirched the reputation of the world's greatest fighting force.
Now, during a different war, you have the nerve to say this: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
Think about what the man is saying. He's essentially saying that those who are in Iraq are uneducated, dumb, non-studying losers who volunteered for the military because they are too stupid for anything else. Kerry has come out today and used the blame Bush card, which makes no sense. He's intimating that he meant Bush getting stuck in Iraq. Either way you look at it, he's screwed up; if he actually meant what it sounds like he meant about the troops in Iraq, that's despicable and he should never have the chance to be President, if he meant Bush in Iraq, he could have said that, which means he's too damn stupid to be President.
Either way Senator, most of us who enlisted voluntarily in the armed forces of the US did so because we believe in the inherent good of this country and democracy. We have a sense of patriotism that cannot be explained to the likes of you. As I've said previously, you were no longer one of us when you smeared us for political benefit with false and hideous accusations. Don't ever say you are a veteran again Senator. You don't deserve the title and have proven it once again. I speak for one veteran--myself, and must say that you disgust me.
Every so often, the mask comes off and liberals say exactly what they think. This is one of those moments. A sitting U.S. Senator slipped and said exactly what the left thinks about the U.S. military men and women. They are stupid, jingoistic murderers who are only in the military because they are not smart enough to do anything else. Thanks for the insight, Senator. As for the rest of the political left, spare me the "we support the troops, but" rhetoric, we all know you don't mean it and Kerry has ust proven it to us.

61. Hi Scott. Thanks for the replies. This is fun. I know my conclusion about 911 is speculation but I don't think it's any more speculative than your conclusion that Arafat couldn't have become a real leader or that the peace plan was doomed from the start. I know OBL mentioned the Israel/Palestinian conflict, Reagan's retreat from Beruit, as well as the issue you named -- but addressing any of the three in a timely manner could have had a positive effect, don't you think?

62. It started with Carter letting our hostages languish for 444-day, It continued with Reagan and hit it's zenith under Clinton allowing the African embassy bombing, Khobar Towers and USS Cole to go without a response.
The Palestinians were promised a homeland and chose suicide bombing of pizzerias as the substitute.
I have no sympathy for them until they renounce terror and acknowledge Israel's right to exist.
My other blog is here if you want to read and comment ever:

63. Actually, the palestinian terrorism started in 1948. Americans were not singled out as a target though until Ronald Reagan ordered our ships to shell palestinian positions in Beruit in 1982. We were supposed to be on a UN peacekeeping mission and the palestinians sort of frowned on us taking sides in their conflict with Israel. That led to the ongoing terrorist attacks directed at us.
The storming of the Embassy in Iran was an entirely different issue. It was related to Nixon and Carter's support of a repressive government of the Shah and to our alleged spying from the embassy. It would have ended much sooner had Reagan not already agreed (behind the scenes) to trade arms for hostages. A thing Carter refused to do.
You might want to check out a reliable source about something one day, Scott. The facts can sometimes be more interesting than the nonsense. I liked your blog. Puzzling why you would want to support those people though.

64. face it, Kerry thought he could get away with saying what he truly feels because he was in californa.it is the home of some of the most liberal people in the usa.the fact is that all most all of the people in the army have some college, you have to or you can't stay in for more than a few years.(this started back in the 80's)
I often wonder if john kerry is so pissed because maybe his family didn't have the clout(or wouldn't use it) to keep him out of the war.this man is a reason for every person who cares about the usa to write their goverment and get a law passed to allow the people to vote out a bad senator.Kerry may have been voted into office by the people of mass. but what he does while there affects everyone in the usa. his poor judgement, has adverse effects on everyone.the man is a pimple on the ass of society. we can not count on the state of massachusetts to do the right thing.(look at ted kennedy)it is time to stop allowing politicians to pander to the wants of the people who put them in office, and make them do whats best for this great country.
