This radio blog has a story from the front lines concerning John Kerry's recent trip to Iraq.
Sen. Kerry found himself all alone while he was over here. HeThat quote plus the attending picture is worth the link alone. Maybe it would have been this way even without the "botched joke" but after that, no one can help but make the connection. It's become pretty obvious to everyone that John Kerry is over in presidential politics. Well to everyone except John Kerry that is. And the campaign advisers on his payroll.
cancelled his press conference because no one came, he worked out alone
in the gym w/o any soldiers even going up to say hi or ask for an
autograph (I was one of those who was in the gym at the same time), and
he found himself eating breakfast with only a couple of folks who are
obviously not troops.
What is amazing is Bill O'Reilly came to visit with us and the troops at
the CSH the same day and the line for autographs extended through the
palace and people waited for two hours to shake his hand. You decide who
is more respected and loved by us servicemen and women!"
So the troops are setting the tone: the best thing to do with John Kerry is to ignore him. Eventually he will go away.

1. I have been in the Navy for almost nine years now. And I will tell you I would rather be roomates with John Kerry than even be in the same room with Bill O'Reilly. He is the one that creates the phony wars on Christmas and the culture conflicts in daily American life. John Kerry made a verbal mistake and the Right made him pay for it. The conservatives are the twisted ones. They are the people in power that sent troops over there with no armor, and made sure Haliburton got anything they needed. So you can bet I would have had John sign my Kerry bio book!

2. Wow ... you mean a neoconservative Web site has a picture showing a Democrat in a compromised position? Gee, what great detective work, NixGuy. You should be a reporter. Maybe next time, you could link us an article from the NATIONAL REVIEW about how awesome global warming is because it creates more tropical climates! You're so pathetic.
For those of you who think this is probably a neoconservative hack job, you're probably right.
For those of you who want to see a REAL funny picture, here's one from a couple years back:

3. Hi,
John Kerry should have known better. Iraq is not funny, but then neither was Vietnam, and at least he served. War is not a video game, and these neo-con non servers are the real threat. They wave the flag, but don't defend it. My Father fought in two wars and he is no fan of the Iraq war.

6. Gee, I wonder why we didn't hear about Kerry's successful trip on CBS, NBC, ABC or CNN (the Clinton News Network)? Kerry was a traitor in 1971 and he is a traitor today. God bless our troops and keep them safe from the likes of Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton, Durbin, Murtha, Pelosi, etc., etc. We do not need to bring the troops home from Iraq, we need to bring the policians home who are trying to politicize the war. You can't be "for the troops" and against the war. That's a classic example of an oxymoron, similar to you can't be a Democrat and be a Christian. Let's win this thing and not allow politicians to do what they did in Vietnam costing us a war John Kennedy started.

7. I know John F. Kerry and have spent time with him, worked for him on staff and even eaten meals with him. I did not vote for him in 2004 because of two things: his positions and his obnoxious entitled and spoiled wife. But his dedication to this country as a serviceman is beyond reproach. His service in the senate is less salutary. He has spent little time serving the people of Mass. and more time furthering his own ends. On the stump he is a stiff and humorless candidate. He can never win over the hearts of the American people--even though he is one of the brightest pols I have ever known...and I have known many.

8. Thank you Jimmy C. for your honesty. During his failed campain in 2004 Mr. Kerry did talk about trying to create a new and real coalition to untangle the mess that Bush Jr.-Cheney had made.
I only wish he and Edwards would have opposed the existing Policy more passionately then, instead of telling us how many more terrorists they would kill. We are all Americans and Mr. Kerry is as distinguished and accomplished as any of our generation. He commands respect as a Veteran and a senior US Senator.
It Is Christmastime and Mr. O'Reilly also deserves his atta boy. It is unforutate that Bush Jr. did not study his history at Yale, the British were also hated occupiers in the 1920s.
God Bless America

9. John Kerry I would be ashamed of myself. You are no leader and you are no follower. Just what are you doing in the ranks of our courageous military men and women who give their all for your kind.

10. I do not agree with what John Kerry said about education and going to Iraq. I have serveral friends serving in Iraq. They are some of the smartess and bravest people you'll ever meet! I am a HARD-CORE republican. However, at this point in my life I am looking into our goverment and seeing that things aren't working. Am I saying I would vote for John Kerry, HELL NO! I am however, saying that those of you on here who are saying we shouldn't pull our troops out are as bad as George Bush. I'm a fireman. I take orders and carry them out until I am told other wise! Do I want to go into half the buildings I go into, NO! I do it because I am here to protect and serve and that is what the fine men and women of our armed forces are doing. I'm sure none of them are enjoying there stay there. They are doing what is asking of them and DYING for our freedom of speech so that you can support leaving them there without the proper supplies! Dear god they atleast deserve proper armor! Every single man and woman should have EVERYTHING they need. While they're away George Bush shouldn't be making millions off his oil interests because he sent OUR troops there to help protect his interests! I'll be one of the many republicans that will say I regret every giving George Bush a dime for his campains and I wish I would have never voted for him. I'm sure many people will again it's either time for a Democrate president, or hell I'd like to see a female president, just not Hillary Clinton!

11. I had a choice last election who I wanted to vote for President. I voted for Kerry. A true Veteran,Bush who hid in the National Guards,Cheney whyo was deferred 6 times from the draft. They don,t even come close to being a veteran or a soldier, but send our young men to die in Irag, for a war that should have had been.Bush should have listened to President FORD about iraq, but Bush is to self centered to listen to anyone., I am a Korean Veteran,Purple heart,CIB, Bronze star, 11 months of combat with Army Special Forces in 1952 in Korea. Kerry is a soldier.I do not believe the articles writhen in this report about Kerry.
GO Kerry.

13. I can't believe you so-called "soldiers" make fun of John Kerry..you idiots,he is a HERO who served his country. And the soldiers in Iraq, well, they don't deserve my respect.Heard about all the war crimes they have committed?

14. You know, I couldn't help noticing when I read through these comments the same thing that I can't help noticing when I read through other comment threads on other blogs and media websites -- that there seems to be a direct correlation between the narrowness and small-mindedness of many folks' political views and their ability to express themselves clearly and correctly using the language that they were supposed to have learned in school.
Perhaps that indicates some kind of connection between the ability to think clearly, articulate properly, and see things objectively in the real world? Or is it just another example of what a boondoggle the 'No Child Left Behind' program turned out to be?
I'm not saying that you have to be stupid to keep buying into the dumbed-down right-wing spin that gets shoved at us every day -- but apparently, in many cases, it helps.

15. Let me see if I get the point: conservatives are dumb and liberals are smart.
You pose such a compelling argument.
As for all the people who defend Kerry’s war record and place him up there with the likes of real Vietnam heroes like Collin Powell and Norman Swartzkopf, you must realize that anyone who actually has been in combat considers him a joke.
And, who ever said that military service was a requisite for leading this country in war time? Ever heard of Abraham Lincoln or Franklin Roosevelt?
I have spent 25 years in the military and served in Iraq; does this qualify me to run for President and manage this war? No, and Kerry’s 4 months in Vietnam don’t either.
