Let me add to what my blogthren Patrick wrote earlier today about Joe Biden.
Joe Biden is gold if you are a Republican, as Patrick said. He is articulate, yet whenever he opens his mouth, you never know what will come out. He has no filter and I suspect that's because he's been in Washington for entirely too long and has no idea what's going on in the real world.
The thing that get's me about the quote is that Biden and the left are spinning it as if he said nothing wrong or that a comma was would change everything. What a sham, Biden has a long history of saying insensitive things, just last year he made the Dunkin' Donuts comment:
Yeah, he wasn't joking.
Now imagine if a Republican or Conservative had said something remotely like what Biden said. Imagine Giuliani saying "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy." The left-wing blogs would be whirling like dervishes for days. Look at the response to George Allen and his "macaca" comment. Note also that Biden didn't say "first mainstream African-American candidate," he said "first African-American."
Joe announced today and is out today, that's gotta be some kind of record for implosion.

What gets me about the right is that they orchestrate a campaign to make an issue out of Barak Obama's middle name and suddenly they are the defenders of his honor when Joe Biden fumbles what was intended as a compliment. Obama himself appears to have taken no offense from it when he told Biden " I understood what you meant." The irony is that Biden was really a non-starter as a candidate in a field for the nomination that includes Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John Edwards among others. So while the Right is taking their shots, they are making Obama into a more sympathetic figure which does nothing but help his candidacy. It also keeps Hillary off the news for a day or two.

Heartedly agree...with a major GBO regarding the spin being attached to the Bden remarks..Like whoa too..hearing too many claiing that calling Obama "articulate" means that no others ever were or are considered articulate and here, having a problem with figuring out just what umbrage should be attached when complimented with BEING "articulate"..wishing MORE were "articulate" and is part of the problem with all the politico's parsings of words and positions. Saying Obama is articulate does NOT mean ALL others are NOT articulate is another point that needs mentioning..Just another media frenzy-fying like the Kerry "joke" (which any with half a brain KNEW who was directed at...) or that infamously over decreed Dean "scream" which was deliberately taken OUT of ocntext and made into "something"...Unfortunately, the need to fill airtime and pages, we're in for a long session of similar nonsensicals that have no real mattering and are but dubious natterings as they IGNOR THE ISSUES THAT DO NEED HONEST SCRUTINY AND REPORTING !!!
