"I mean, that's a storybook, man."Wow, I still cringe a little inside every time I see that quote. Obviously everyone is all agog at Biden's gaffes and even the Kos kids are running away. And you bet everyone on the right is piling on. Including myself. It's an obvious question as to what Biden meant when he said that.
And now we have Obama responding:
I didn't take Senator Biden's comments personally, but obviously they were historically inaccurate. African-American presidential candidates like Jesse Jackson, Shirley Chisholm, Carol Moseley Braun and Al Sharpton gave a voice to many important issues through their campaigns, and no one would call them inarticulate.As Frum pointed out, they might be unethical and dirty (in a political sense) but they were all quite articulate. More so than Biden, I would add. I disagree with Frum though -- Obama was right to respond. He was actually quite restrained. Presidential politics ain't beanbag and there's nothing wrong with Obama correcting the gaffe, and scoring a few points on the way.

31. Goodness, you sure can tell that AOL is FOR allowing illegal immigration by the fact that they didn't include (R)Congressman Tom Tancredo as a contender for 2008. He has constantly been in the news for deciding to run, as well as, being one of the only members of Congressman who:
1. Is 100% against illegal immigrants being given amnesty for all the laws they've broken in our country.
2. Wants the borders 100% secured.
3. Got a group of other Congressmen together and filed a petition to investigate SPP and NAU that Bush signed (without Congressional knowledge or approval) in 2005 that will make Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. one country. A 10-lane highway is in the works already from Mexico to Canada, with the main stopgate being in Kansas City that will be owned and run by Mexico. That investigation is going nowhere because Bush is stalling and not answering anything.
In less than 60 days, Bush is allowing Mexican trucks to enter America without being inspected and to have freedom to go everywhere in our country. Just imagine how many drugs and illegal aliens there will be then.
The media is not publishing information and events about Tom Tancredo because they are run by their advertising corporations who have the illegals working and want them - they don't want to lose the advertising dollars.
Bush and the Census Bureau has downplayed the real number of illegals in America by millions by stating there are only 11-12 million. It is coming to light that the number is between 40-50 million that we do not know about. The Census Bureau is an 'HONOR SYSTEM' of reporting who lives in your household. Can you really see an illegal alient running to the front door and saying, "Count me too, I'm here illegally!" So our government's numbers are vastly low.
Government records prove there are already 50 million legal Hispanic visitors and students and workers, legal Hispanic residents, and Hispanic citizens (the anchor babies) here. That and the approx. 40-50 million illegals.........think about it..........are approx. 1/3 of the total population of America.
Can you imagine if 1/3 of those here TURN AGAINST US and start rioting and killing because we deport illegals and build a wall? Scary!

32. Joe Biden I believe is a man of morals. His civil rights record is far to accomplished to think that his comments were racially motivated. He is the only candidate that has a plan to resolve the Iraq crisis. His experience alone makes him the most qualified to be president. That is why I will be voting for Joe Biden
