Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo -- a potential 2008 Republican presidential candidate -- has emerged as a staunch foe of illegal immigration. But have he -- and Bob -- met their match? Find out in this latest edition of "Running Gags"!
P.S.: Hat tip to my dad on this one.

1. People still miss the main point these people are crooks using fake ID's, Not paying into social security, not paying medical bills, Will agree they are doing jobs that our lazy American youth won't do as welfare and living with parents sponging off of them is easy, reform in all fields is necessary

2. The immigration problem is just one of many symptoms that point to the US's major problem. Our government has become so large, and pay people not to work. Any citizen who gets a check doesn't have to take the low end jobs. The Democrats and Republicans just dance around the issue and their mind numbed followers just go along!

5. The fact is that the enormous influx of illegal immigrant Mexicans is a threat to patriotic Americans of all races. They are already turning California into Mexifornia, and New Mexico into Nuevo Mexico.
I used to be a Democrat, but I now believe that the only way to stem the tide of this invasion from Mexico is to put the Republican party in charge of the House and Senate.
So register for the Republican party primary elections and vote for candidates who favor Strong Border Security and No Amnesty for Illegal Aliens!
Tom Tancredo, http://www.teamtancredo.com/ representative from Colorado, is thinking of running for President. Visit his site and express your support especially if you want to Stop Illegal Immigration NOW!

6. Go Tancredo!!! As more people become aware of Tancredo's steadfast stance on illegal immigration, a groundswell of ordinary republicans and democrats will come to his way of thinking. The central fight for America's security is with Mexico on our southern border, NOT in Iraq. The fight in Iraq will eventually end, but the insidious invasion from the south will continue until we embrace a true American hero such as Tancredo.

8. We all know our country "America" is founded on immigration. We are all proud of that history, for the most part, except to the Native Americans, that is. While going to school, as students we use to enjoy discussing what our "heritage" was with each other. That's not what is happening to America now. We are facing a genuine threat to our nation and to our "American Culture of Diversity". Citizenship is for persons who love and want to be a citizen of America, and they want this so much so, they came into the country legally, studied the history, learned English to reach their dream, finished the paperwork and background checks. These persons treasure their heritage, but do more to contribute to our diversity as a nation, not plant their foreign flags on our soil, raise their fists and insult us, and then demand we accommodate them. We are losing our country to illegal immigrants who have come here to support their families in their own countries and the economies of their "own" countries. They are not here to become Americans and contribute to the American economy or to the true diversity that is America. These foreigners remain cloistered and distant, even hostile to their American communities. They, during their stay, use the services they do not contribute to. They create their "own" communities and our banks and other institutions have set up, for a fee (always the bottom line of course), ways to help them wire their money to their countries. Corporate America decided that the dilema that faces America is really one heck of an opportunity for some pretty huge profits. An irresistable boost to their bottom line. So they now, not only hire illegal immigrants without much consequence, but, they are also printing all of their labels in Spanish and English to "reach out" to that "market". Nothing else matters but the bottom line. Is Corporate America a citizen of America with the same responsibilities other American citizens have to demonstrate loyalty to the nation and protect it from enemies? Their answer is "no". They are "Global" Citizens because their markets are "Global". Add to the 12 million illegal immigrants, the "legal immigrants" by the hundreds of thousands brought here by the big Corporations (i.e. Microsoft, Nintendo, Nokia, etc), (not including the so called jobs "exported" to other countries) who have legal work permits. They in turn bring their extended family members, and so on. These persons are not interested in being a part of America or of becoming citizens either. It's a huge, highly paid group. Their money goes back overseas also. Their presence in the communities is so severe that entire communities are evolving to accommodate their unique needs, at the expense of the local citizens and community. They, also, are cloistered to their own "communities" and do not interact with the "locals", except through customer serice. I have witnessed some of these high paid foreign workers treat our store clerks in some pretty condensending ways. Many, many continue to wear their native dress. Another group of legal immigrants is the true refugee. By the hundreds of thousands, this legal group of refugees, are settled in American communities. From war torn places all over the world. They come here to be in a "safe" place. Many are hostile to the USA, and do not hide it. They do not intend to be a part of America or to integrate. They are waiting to return home, if they can. If they cannot, they are always wanting to, always. Their experiences are tragic and painful. Many cannot work, do not speak English, and never will. This third category of foreigners also bring their extended families when they can. American citizens do not deserve to endure the emotional, economical impact this whole mess has on their lives and their communities. They deserve that their nation is "protected" and "preserved". Now we see the illegal immigrants take our compassionate law that makes children born in this country citizens, and deliberately use their children as hostages to "remain" in this country. They are smarter than us, they design their family circumstances to abuse the laws we have in this nation to stay here, such as "single mom" caught in illegal immigrant "raids", etc. The ACLU jumps right on board with these illegal immigrants and blames America for the actions the illegal immigrants chose to take! No wonder American citizens feel threatened and angry. We are overwhelmed. We feel like we lost our country to Corporate America, broken borders (North, South, East AND West), and the hundreds of thousands of refugees from global wars. Americans, and their children, are told the world hates America. Well, it isn't the same place anymore, so the world is just going to have to "hate" themselves for awhile until a suitable replacement can be found.

9. Yeah Tancredo, I sure am glad to learn there is one politicion who is not afraid to speak out against illegal immigration. George Bush can't run for president anymore in this country, but I bet he could win presidency in Mexico. They love him there. I only wish he did as much for America as he has done for Mexico. John McCain and Ted Kennedy will never get enough Mexicans here to suit them. Why don't they move to Mexico, I think that is the answer.

10. Well said Jean. You have done a wonderful job of writing all the thoughts and feelings I have on this issue, but I'm usually so angry at our politicians for selling us out that I can't sit down and compose my thoughts the way you have. Americans are sick and tired of being treated like second class citizens to those who aren't even citizens of this country. We are tired of paying half of our salaries into taxes that take care of those who come into this country and get free social services, when our citizens who truely need the help can't get it. I'm not talking about the ones who just want to sit around a collect welfare and food stamps because they're too lazy to work. I'm speaking of our senior citizens who have worked all their lives to support this country and it's economy and now they have to choose whether they buy medicine or food, those who are truely disabled and cannot physically work, those who have been stricken with terrible diseases and can't afford life saving treatments. It is all so disheartening. We as a country, as true Americans, including those who have immigrated here legally, have got to make ourselves heard. We must pay close attention to what these candidates say and don't say. We have to make the right choice in the next election or our country will never be able to recover, we're not far from that now. The only one that I've heard that truely feels this way is Tom Tancredo, he will have my vote and the vote of many more people that I know.

11. The Federal Government had imposed a condition for illegal immigrants to prove citizenship for the babies they claim were born in the USA, before they could receive Medicaid benefits. These benefits are paid for each baby for the first full year of life. Reasonable you say? Washington state filed suit against the Federal Government to overturn the "proof of citizenship" requirement, stating the State of Washington would ignor the requirement anyway, and would provide the benefits without such proof. It was announced in the newspapers today that the State of Washington prevailed and the proof of citizenship is no longer required for illegal immigrants to receive Medicaid for the first year of the babys' life. When our government makes honest attempts to qualify eligibility for benefits our citizens pay hard earned taxes for, and then watch reasonable protections get overturned, and no oversight in place whatsoever, the injustice of an increased burden to the legal citizens in this country makes my blood boil!

12. It is always amazing to me how political leftists portray Mexican-speaking people as gardeners and toilet bowl cleaners. Talk about being stereotyped!
What is worse is that the leftists totally propone this idea! "Keep the illegals here! We need them to clean our shit!"
Talk about avid racism. What is it like to be thought of as a dirty person whose sole role in this existence is to clean up after wealthy American liberals? Shoot, they won't even question your nationality - just keep your mouth shut, accept the medical benefits package that comes with your low-paying, degenerate job, and vote Democrat! Twice!
GO, TOM TANCREDO! YOU ARE THE ONE TRUE POLITICIAN IN THIS RACE BESIDES NEWT. I HOPE YOUR PARTY GIVES YOU BOTH THE NOD. I WILL SUPPORT YOU BOTH.

14. The problems of immigration, illegal and legal are enormous and endless. From driving without drivers licenses and not having insurance when they run into you to draggin our health care and education system down to meet their needs. Press 1 for English.............You can't even sit down in your own country in a Waffle House anymore and understand what they are saying to each other behind the counter.
