The "We the People" spot features nine supporters who urge Congress to not back down. It suggests members just keep sending Bush "the same bill, again and again." The commercial is primarily a Web-based initiative, though it will air on TV in the Washington, D.C. area.
We all know that Web 2.0 interactivity and social networking sites are all the rage for the 2008 election. John Edwards is trying to take that model to the next step in his planned follow-up ads. From the AP:
The ad will also run on the Edwards' Web site as well as on YouTube, the popular online video site. Edwards wants viewers to post their own personal messages to Congress about Iraq. The campaign will then incorporate those messages into future Web ads.Do you think it will work? Talk about the ad in the comments below...

3. Didn't we see this from Vietnam, people apose
the war tell lies getting people killed and
spit on!
A case in point Hanoi Jane who went to North
Vietnam and was able to see the prisoners.
When she visited them they thinking she was
an American handed her little pieces of paper
with their name and rank on them. Hoping to
get a message to their loved ones and our
Government, they were alive.
She being a good North Vietnamese handed
these to the North Vietanmese Commander at
the end of the line. Three of them were
tortured to death because of this, so I guess
we should reverence her when we see her now!
Being a Christian now, I guess I need to
forgive her but I want to caution all of us
if we go to far to the left we end up in
the ranks of our enemies, helping those who
are at war against us.
John Kerry who when he came home went before
Congress with hear say stories to further his
political career. Stepping all over the backs
of us who would come home after him and be
spit on as baby killers, because of ones like
him and Hanoi Jane.

4. I don't know what it will take to change Bush, but probably a massive display of discontent by the American people. I do know that thousands of lives were lost unnecessarily in Viet Nam because, first Johnson, then Nixon refused to leave. They could not admit that, though we had done our best the Vietnamese people wanted us to leave and let them handle their own fate.
I think the same has happened in Iraq.
I heard something interesting on the radio today. Until this war in Iraq there had never been a suicide bombing in that country. This is now their main weapon. It is horrible and we don't know how to combat this. Lets go home. Not with our tails between our legs, but with pride that we helped them get rid of the scourge of Saddam and have given them the opportunity to choose a different path. Let us be willing to let them make their own choice.

5. First of all, this situation is unnessary, considering Bush has the executive power to change the timelines as presented in the Bill. So, ask yourself why? Why all or nothing?
Hey, I am angry about Bush's arrogance and unrealistic expectation of "success", too. The man's entire Presidency has been based on non-cooperation, and isolation. He must like it, somehow. Maybe He is a narciccist or has some other mental disorder? I am incredulous.
Now, He needs to save face, like the Japenese after WWII. He has embarrassed himself to the extreme and he dosen't care because He is John Wayne and Elmer Fudd roled into one....
So, how do the Dems catch a greased pig?
This is a very catchy ad...but, the way I see it, Bush has blown all his political capital. He is politically bankrupt.
Maybe he can rely on His own party leadership to make concessions for him. Trent Lott and John Warner still have some credibility to get a compromise. I say Take it and move on..
If not, He can resummuns the Baker-Ham. Commission.
Then more bullshit, on and on and on..until 2009
Edwards is a big-time gambler...and I don't like it.. I am a life-long California Democrat..but this approach makes even me uncomfortable, sorry, Johnboy. Don't play craps with the country.

6. C'mon....even CNN's defense team says pulling out of Iraq will only escalate this war with other countries in the Mid-East battling AL Qaeda in Iraq!!! If our troops leave Iraq now, thousands of innocent Iraqi's will die each and every day from AL Qaeda trying to take over and make Iraq their new center of operations.......use common sense....and if this happens, the Liberals would blame President Bush for the deaths, even though it was the Democrats who demanded the withdrawl....'nuff said!!

7. Edwards and his old lady both are professional ambulance chaser's "Trail Lawyers". With this call for the Demo's to stand tuff, their just trying to incite the far left wingers to choose them instead of Hussein or Dirty legs for the nomination. Inciting people to do things the way they want them to is what ambulsnce chaser's do. The Webster def. for them:
Main Entry: ambulance chaser
Function: noun
: a lawyer or lawyer's agent who incites accident victims to sue for damages
- ambulance chasing noun

8. Hagel could win. What's he waiting for?
Feingold could win. What's he waiting for?
We need somebody to stand up for something
"No, I won't back down," and "I'm not ready to make nice." These ought to be some candidate's theme song.

9. Hey "Poncho," your name must mean that you're a fat-bellied beer guzzling, head scratching dumb Mexican, huh? The same way you're using "Hussein" as something negative against Obama. It's racist, dude.

10. I would like to see you make president in the next election. So might I suggest that you take your wifes present health condition in dealing with Breast cancer, and ask yourself where did your wife live during the 1950's "FALLOUT', THIS WAS DURING THE TIME THE HYDROGEN BOMB WAS BEING TESTED AND IT AFFECTED ALL OF THE UNITED STATES MILK SUPPLY, WHEN YOU DRINK YOU BECOME EXPOSED TO THE POISONS FROM HYDROGEN BOMB TESTINGS. I've lost many family members who weren't aware of the danger to the testings. Once again our GOVERNMENT has lied to us again. The end result is that the PHARMACUTICAL COMPANIES are being sued when infact it should be the Government who shouild be paying the bill. If you were to acknowledge that more people have been affected by the bomb testings to further include there children , and you voice this to the people then you have a sure thing. and unlike Barack Obama who wishes to campaign on grass roots and tell the Uncle Tom story again to gain the President title. You can see how powerfull this could be if used correctly to help those who have been poisoned and passed away. I truely hope that you give this some thought , if I see in your speeches that you don't mention the "FALLOUT' of the 1950's and how you will go to work for the people who have suffered and make the government acknowledge the wide spread damage done to the american people. If I don't hear these words then you won't get my vote, and you deserve to suffer the loss in your family, as many hundreds of thousands of people in the United States have suffered and loss there lives and there families lives. THINK ABOUT IT.

11. #5 bobby d - are you for real. it is the dem's fault? this is a president who likes "playing war" because he never had the chance in his life to actually be in a "war". now you are feeling sorry for the iraqi people dying? duh? they have been in civil wars since Jesus and only now the republicans are feeling sorry for them? get over your self-RIGHTious self. we are only in iraq to give haliburton non-bidding contracts and make sure the oil is protected. no other reason!
iamchavira at 1:22PM on May 3rd 2007
12. # w.d. - atleast kerry was in vietnam. - can you say the same for this gung-ho president for "war"? no!!! as for jane fonda - see how stupid you are to believe an actress with no other skills? she lives in the make-believe world. duh???? something needs to be done to bring home our troops. we are losing a generation of young people that when they come home, the president did not prepare them for any BENEFITS to come their way. it will be these soldiers families who will then get "hit" with the cost(and that is not only in the dollars), to care for them.

13. iamchavira,
from Jean to bobbi, et al
I have finally decided that continuing to argue a rational point, here on this blog, is fruitless.
Bush could drop a nuetron bomb, and this rabble would cheer. I give up.
Cheers....

14. Hey "Cliff" your right, I am a fat bellied beer drinking, head scratching dumb Mexican boy. I want to thank you for not being racist to me by calling me a greaser, speck or a pepper belly. By listening to your writing it seems like you may be like someone that fell from the watermelon truck while trying to get something for nothing, eh? Why do you feel like using a mans middle name is racist? I am sure Obama is not ashamed of using his middle name "Hussein" even if it is like Saddam's last name. It doesn't seem negative to me guy. Maybe you got mad with me because I said Edwards and his old lady were ambulance chasers? I know they can't help it, some people will do anything for money. Or maybe your mad because I used the name Dirty Legs for the old woman, that's the name I know her by from the TV show I see many years ago. Some guy named Russ something used to call her that all the time while she was in the white house with Bill willie. Anyway, what ever it was that made you mad with me, I am sorry. Vaya con dios mi amigo.

15. The Democrats won the elections in Nov because we know the Republicans are not going to end war. Bush's approval rating is 28%, why on earth do the Dems in Congress think they must compromise with him. They were not sent to Congress to compromise with GW. They need to tell GW that he didn't like this bill, he will like the next one even less.
