Amazing. During last night's Republican debate, three candidates signaled that they did not believe in the theory of evolution. Mike Huckabee, Tom Tancredo, and Sam Brownback. John McCain himself, who was initially asked the question, seemed almost hestitant to endorse what is perhaps the most robust scientific theory of our age. You might as well say you don't believe that planes can fly. Watch.
Of course, evolution itself is not incompatible with a belief in God, as some would have you think. But it certainly doesn't square with a literalist interpretation of the Bible. One wonders how each candidate would respond in full to this question, and whether it's the last we'll hear of it.

31. The debate looked like a Nazi party meeting, all with the same war profiteer mentality and all willing to lie for the good o the party and WINNING to continue control of the big bucks that come from the military/oil industrialist complex that Eisenhower warned about many years ago.
So now these geniuses will persist in Iraq until when?
Would we still have been in Korea or Vietnam if they were in charge and how many of our troops would be dead and mained in excess of the hundreds of thousands already victimized for no gain whatsoever. How many more trillions of dollars would we be borrowing from Communist China for their brilliant plans?
Thank heavens at least they are showing their true stupidity. In a few months most of them will flip flp on many issues like fish out of water like the true bullshitters they are.

32. The Bible says man was created by God on the 6th day out of the dust of the earth, not out of other animals. The Bible says that God created the plants, sea creatures, birds, and animals after their own kind. Not birds from fish or fish from birds or dogs from cats or any such thing. "Missing links" have never been found, because there are and never have been any. The flue virus is still a flue virus. It isn't a smarter or more developed thing. It's still a flue virus.
Mankind has pretty much filled the earth, as God told Noah and his offspring to do.

34. To discount the body of scientific evidence supporting evolution is to demonstrate a lack of ability to remove ones self from the "dark ages" of our past. It is this same blind faith in religous dogma that has the middle east ensnared in their own ignorance even today.
By the way how many Imams or Ayatolla's do you see blowing themselves up?

36. remarkable. i'm a christian, but when i hear a scientific consensus, i don't shrink from it. as for proof that the bible is simply a guide and not the literal truth, passages in paul 1 corinthians demean women, and i certainly hope those who defend the bible don't support that. and leviticus? if you want to take everything literally in the bible, then show a little consistency and start sacrificing doves and giving up offals and grain offerings. you can't flip-flop and say one biblical passage is the word-for-word truth (i.e. creation), but then say another isn't or is only symbolically true (i.e., all of leviticus). plus, that was one of the dumbest things i've ever heard from grant. you've proved your ignorance right there. lastly, no, the "theory" of evolution isn't complete, but scientists find new links every month. the evolution of eye has been broken down into 8 simple steps. a fossil has been discovered of a mammal that is a bridge between water dwellers and land dwellers. it was a pretty big story. so i'd suggest that kathy corry do a little background research, because it might help your position. start by searching "titaalik roseae." what was that about transitional fossils again? it's only a matter of time before evolution becomes indisputable fact, not theory.

37. THANK GOD there are men of courage willing to stand up and speak thier true beliefs despite the bias presented in the "godless" media. Of course evolution as an explanation for man appeals to liberal mindset because it removed a Creator from their thinking.
Speaking as a man of science there has NEVER been one FACT of science that shows the Biblical explanation of the origin of man as untrue. There are however endless thoeries that contradict the Genesis account. Bu theories are not facts. If you doubt this go back to 5th grade science.

38. Follow-up questions to the candidates who raised their hands in disbelief could be, “And of the three who don’t believe in evolution, how many believe in Santa Claus?…….The Tooth Fairy?”

39. Anyone that thinks man came from the goo to the zoo to you is an idiot. We are brain washed in school that billions of years ago some big bang explosion (from nothing) created the solar systems and life? I have never seen order or something created out of an explosion except a mess! One should take a minute to examine all aspects of the solar system, the alignment of the round planets (not square or rectangle), the sun and it’s perfect distance from earth, the perfect conditions of our atmosphere to support life, all breathing creatures having similar design in sight, hearing, the reproductive system, the digestive system. Examine human body parts such as the complexity of the human eye or brain (evolutionist have none) or the building blocks of DNA and thousands of other proofs of design. Anyone having open minded and honest debate will admit there is a creator. The reason an atheist will not admit there is a creator is due to being accountable for their actions and an atheist cannot accept that when they take their last breath on earth they will take their first breath in eternity that includes judgment.
The real issue is not if Darwin had some mystical insight or revelation when he was examining salamanders. The real question should be asked, who is the creator? All roads do not lead to God and our country needs to stop being politically correct and start recognizing the one true God that our founders established this Nation. Those that want to believe they are a relative of an ape should remember that our constitutional rights are preserved by our creator not man or government. If someone does not like the fact we were established as a Christian nation should go live in another country! Our country is headed for disaster!

41. All you religious idiots out there cannot prove of a Gods existence. Why then when most of you get sick you turn to science. To think man and dinosuur coexisted 5 to 6000 yrs ago is simply wrong and you show the extreme lenghts any of you would go to to convert another soft minded person. There is no God, never was.

42. When Darwin brought this theory to popularity, he had no idea of all the tiny machines that are involved in just one cell. He imagined a glob of nothing. Well, it's time to wake up. Our DNA is coded with millions of instructions, and for this to have organized itself is impossibe. Science books change every year as new data is realized. One fact has not changed, you can't create life from nothing. YOu have to have a disigner, an architect.

43. To all the evolutionist out there. What happened to the poor monkeys left behind? Why didn't they evolve? That's my thoughts too!!! God created each after it's on kind, including humans. Elaine

44. The theory of evolution is not the "robust scientific theory of our age". If it were true then ariplanes wouldn't fly, etc.
If we 'evolved' we'd have the most sophisticated mode of communication, why don't we?
Why is Biblical Hebrew more advanced than (Twisted, backwards) English? Just look at the 3 romance languages. They put the noun before the adjective. Which is more important, the object or it's attributes? One enters the door of English class teaching that the adjective is more important then opens the door to Logic class which teaches one to think clearly, logically--a contradiction. English (Or other languages?) is dissassociative--alientated thinking).
(Mystical) Biblical Hebrew has many levels of understanding. Sentences are sometimes 1/4 the length of English sentences; saying the same thing with depth and meaning. Biblical Hebrew was spoken by Adam & Chava (Eve) and all the generations that followed. It is not 'Jewish.' Most people are ignorant of Biblical Hebrew (Loshon HaKodesh-The Tongue that is Holy [Scientific, Modern, Advanced, Deep, Complex]. Go to a search engine at look for it. Open your mind and eyes and see we DEVOLVED not EVOLVED. People used to be stronger, healthier and smarter than us.
Example: The Bible is translated: "In the beginning G-d created the heaven and earth." This is a grave error! The Bible really says: "In the begining of G-d's CONTINUAL creating..." How do I know? Because BERAISHIS with the letter 'BETH' in the begining of RAISHIS means something was happening before. Shlomo HaMelech uses B RISHONA to show something was continually ongoing. RAISHIS means actual beginning, like "Raishes Chochma, Yirat HaShem." "The (actual) beginning of wisdom is the fear of G-d (Sin). So there were worlds that existed prior to Adam and Eve -- dinsosaurs, etc.
Check out Edenics.org - not religious.
Also, after the flood of Noach (Noah) the heat and pressure of the waters might have taken fossils and aged them. Science can only project, induce current known physical perameters onto the past. But conditions might have been different. There is much written on this. People enjoy believing in the 'fantasy' of Evolution so they can rebel against the G-d of the Bible (Who says I created everything from nothing in 6 days, then rested on the 7th.). Hey, look folks, G-d's not so powerful, HE has to bend to us!
Sounds like the Tower of Babel all over again? IT IS!

45. Unfortunately, everyone, i really mean (almost everyone), overlooks the FACT that evolution is only a theory, never has been deemed by the scientific community as the explanation of life on earth. If it weren't so it would not be called the THEORY of evolution.
