In a previous cartoon, I compared Tancredo with Chavez. Seems great minds really do think alike, as this week's cartoon demonstrates:

17. The cartoon brings two apparently disparate issues together and is meant, I think, to consider the question of whether they are, in fact, different or similar in certain respects. It is, by its dualistic design, not taking a particular stance, but rather playing with the tension of the two extreme viewpoints. I can't understand why a piece of creative, non-partisan political cartooning that encourages thinking could raise such ire and angry commentary--unless there is a lot of hypersensitive, fearful, bullying, freedom-bashing sentiment out there. It's quite sad to see that apparently this is the case in the US now.
Thanks, Rich, for your thought-provoking work!

18. Blacks can never be called "Illegal Immigrants" because we were dragged here handcuffed in chains. Hispanics made their way to America too, but our paths clearly were not quite the same. The status quo left America's back door open allowing Hispanics to walk-in seeking a better way of life. Some people don't think that our laws are important and some don't think that Hispanics should pay any price! The law was abused to discriminate base on race and Hispanics have not paid their dues. An invasion now hides the status quo's disgrace, but pitting Blacks versus Hispanics means we've been used. Yes, we all have been treated like something far less, but the law changed to embrace former slaves. Without amnesty some Hispanics will always be "Illegal guests", with out laws America won't be the land of the free or home of the brave. What's my point? Hispanics are not being discriminated against, they are demanding equal rights after breaking and entering. Some are willing to break the law because pride demands equal treatment. Hispanics have been used to prevent Blacks from achieving equality and being paid reparations. If you don't get in line, then nothing changes. We all get abused by a status quo making us fight for crumbs as they stay in power. Don't let your pride block you from seeing the truth. Without the law, we have chaos and Hispanics will be blamed.

I do expect our leaders to arrive at a decision, concerning illegal immigrants that can be presented to the American People on an American Platform.
The end result should be right. Just. Legal. Respectful of the laws of this land. It should respect and uphold the American Citizen’s economic standing in the face of whatever decision that our leaders make for this country. It should be based upon solid facts and numbers, not emotionalism.
American leaders must show that the end decision concerning illegal immigrants is not done to the detriment of the American People, social security benefits, or in disregard to our system of laws.
There is a high standard that the American People must see flow from any decision coming down from our government.
In recent months, that “standard” appears to be faltering. When Congress rewards defaulting homeowners who willingly lied (conspired with) loan agents for a loan that both of them knew the homeowner could not qualify for………When Congress tells illegal immigrants it’s ok to break American laws of Entry into this country and encourage law breaking immigrants to flaunt their “right” to be here by parading in the streets maintained by my tax dollars……When Congress wants the American People to finance the exorbitant medical and living expenses of these illegals and fights against the notion of having these “future citizens” share their “ACTUAL” burden of the American debt through fines or fees, then we, the American People, know that Congress’s loyalty is not with the American people.
America wants to support its leaders. We want to be able to say that our Leaders forged a national policy that is backed by our laws and system and economy. We want to be certain that our leaders are certain that decisions made will strengthen our Country today and tomorrow.
This is my country. Don’t lower the standard. This is America. I want to be proud of my country and the laws its leaders enact for our Country’s future.
Now do the right thing.

If the Leaders of the United States Government passed legislation that said:
"All war veterans have free priority access (before any illegal mexicans) to medical and psychiatric services at public hospitals"
Then funding and services and scarce psyche benefits and access to healthcare for our servicemen would cease to be a national dilemma.
Take care of our own troops over the illegals, congressmen and women. You let illegals walk into ER's for same day service and you make our servicemen fight months of red tape for health care?
Leaders, Immediate health care is available. You just have to take it away from the illegals who have no citizen right to it, and give it to the men and women in uniform that were willing to die for you.
Morally, the broken American soldier has superior rights to healthcare over illegals. The switch to healthcare priority should happen immediately.

21. We, Americans, know that having to pay for the healthcare and living expenses of 12 million illegals is going to hurt us economically. This is too simple to require further debate.
The catastrophic economic burden this would impose on this country is one that should cause us to rivet our attention to ANY Congressional Leader who dares puts our country in this position.
An issue like this that has the capacity to help cripple our nation fiscally should rivet our attention to the ulterior motives of any leader who persists in pushing this Black Cloud upon our Country.
Obviously, if the harmful impact is clear, then the intent must be something other than honorable to the welfare of this country and its citizens.
As an American, I urge all Americans to be on the look out for leaders who push for folly in this nation. To raise your voice against them. To fight their reelection. To begin a campaign to remove them from office. To publicize the harmful effects of their conduct. To call them to account.
This is our country. We, Americans, must fight to protect it with everything we’ve got when our leaders go astray.
Stick to the facts and consequences and solutions. Be respectful. But be diligent. We are all the stewards of this great country for future generations.

23. I agree with Trancredo. The idiot that compared him to chavas needs to wake up. If our American corporations insist on outsourcing our jobs and taking their business off shore, we need to rise up and nationalize those corporations and take their factories and businesses away from them, then let working AMericans take them over and run them. Send every illegal immigrant alian back where they came from and let them get in line like everyone else. Fine then jail any business ower that hires illegals.
