Especially memorable was the exchange between Rudy Giuliani and Ron Paul on the reasons that al-Qaida and terrorists in general attack Americans. It was clearly Rudy's best moment in an otherwise awkward balancing act.
But back to the moderators. Perhaps what it really took tonight were conservative commentators to ferret out the crucial distinctions between the GOP candidates. The Fox guys did good on this score, and, as a result, tomorrow's headline will not be about the media, or a bunch of guys who all sounded the same.

2. its nice to see the transparant hate of the rep. party by aol and their ilk. The dem party debate never told one solid responce to a specific question, yet the aol headline was who won the debate immediatlly afterwards. The republicans debate finishes and 3 hours later respondents have to look a couple pages in to even see that a debate took place.
Tom Tancrado from colo looked bad , but put out the best most truthful message, and called the others on their decietfulness on key issues

3. Did anyone see the commentary online on foxnews.com?? they had students from the school they were at and some of them had some really interesting stuff to say. did anyone else see?

4. Excellent debate exposing more of what each candidate is made of. While I thought they all did well, I find it difficult to say who was the winner. Each had something important to say, and said it well. Ron Paul is apparently taking positive votes for his comment on why America was attacked. I believe a lot of people believe that he is right, especially those on the left....and that won't change. 9/11 was a shock, but not a surprise. There have been too many previous attacks not to know there is always somebody somewhere hating us...all the time...for whatever reason. We can't lose this fight...and whoever shows the most will to win has my vote. We must prevail....or the whole world goes down.
It was good to watch these impressive candidates show their stuff, but sadly only a fraction of America probably tuned into watch, or let alone know who they are.

6. oh great, they all want more tax breaks for the wealthy, ignore the budget deficit as well as the trade deficit, is the whole republican party just plain stupid, or do they want want to elect Obama or Hilary?

10. The blogger who applauded Fox News for conducting a meaningful Republican Presidential debate also took shots at the network for typical conservative bias.
The constant carping about Fox News having a conservative tilt in its reporting is vapid and inaccurate.
The reason many consider Fox News conservative is simply because it isnt liberal in its approach to news coverage like CNN, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, PBS and CBS. On that basis alone, that makes Fox conservative to liberals who are used to having left wing drivel spewed hour after hour on the other networks.

11. When people like David constantly say biased it just cracks me up. Fox has more liberals then CNN & MSNBC have conservatives combined.

12. Quite frankly, 72% of America considers these people just "more of the same" and cut from the same cloth as Bush. Why should anyone waste their time watching? And most people don't find the Fox Channel to be credible in any way, the same as they don't find the Republican Party to be credible in any way.
These guys all look like clowns, if you ask me. There's no one there that has any vision or answers or even "truths" for the American people. They don't have what America craves and needs.
People are tired of them crying "wolf" constantly and playing the "terror card" to control us. It's become so very apparent that everything they've done has been in an effort to enrich themselves and to further constrain and stifle the American people

13. Totally professional were the Fox Boys. I worry about the quick acceleration of Ron Paul's votes.
Me thinks that it bears shades of calling Florida for Gore only this time it is text terrorism.
If you want to win the war against the Jihadis it will take a Duncan Hunter. If you want to stop border bleeding it will take a Tom Tancredo.
All missed the border question. The Dukas of hazards came into the USA illegally over the Mexican border into Brownsville Texas. It does not matter they were in a baby carriage. From small fire crackers, big nukes grow.Besides Bin Laden saw the Boy's from Brazil. He thought it was a love story.
The terrorist scenario was ok but mine is better.
All that you love is buried alive with five minutes of air left. The culprit is sitting across the arrest table with his ACLU lawyer laughing at you. The gun is in your hands. After you convince the terroist you mean business by killing the lawyer. What do you do next?
The old liberal let's murder all the kids bait question using the rape incest scenario. I say the percentage of abortion casualties under those mickey mouse stats is equal to the recovery rate of heroin addicts. Less that 1%. So let us concentrate on saving the other 99 percent and then we can debate what's left.
McCain reaches out to Russel Feingold a flag burner and a baby killer. That's not being smart. McCain also said he wants to please international opinion with the lives of US troops like the four being totrured on Al Jazero. I defer to William Tecumseh Sherman and George Patton.
Giuliani was not ready for 911 and had a pre Que Sera attitude. I pray he gets it right next time.
Fiorello Laquardia had ack ack guns on New York roof tops during WWII. Every time I see a helicopter with a water bucket I see the Hudson river.
In a nation where cover up committees write books and the best looking candidate can pull a Hollywood vote we had better be tuned in on this selection of a leader. The vice president may be more important than the president if Bin Laden watches Zapruder films. Choose wisely America your neck is on the line. We will not be the first nation to armor up a baby carriage. Never forget 911 when clouds got in our way.
