He's got a popular new song, "High Maintenance Woman," on WKLB-FM, the country-music station in the greater Boston area. He's brought inspiration to American servicemen stationed around the world. Could Toby Keith deliver another hit performance for a friend in 2008?
Keith "counts among his friends several prominent Democrats," Newsday reported in January, and that list includes "New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson..."
Could Keith help out Richardson? Music has played a role in past presidential campaigns. "When Ronald Reagan faced Walter Mondale in 1984," the St. Petersburg Times reported, "(Bruce) Springsteen publicly complained about Reagan invoking 'New Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen' during a campaign appearance." The Boss himself campaigned with fellow performers for John Kerry in 2004.
Then again, any Keith support of Richardson might be problematic for the candidate. First of all, the country-music star was among a list of musicians who backed Bush in 2004. Second, Keith was involved in a dispute with liberal icons the Dixie Chicks after lead singer Natalie Maines blasted President Bush. Maybe Keith ought to sit this campaign out.

2. LOL, Joseph A Republican will win big in 2008 Presidential election. Billary is hated by over 50% of voting public, and Hussien Obama, is well "Hussien" Obama, he will never win. Plus Americans will never elect cut and run liberal cowards, soft on defense, and high on raising our taxes for useless programs

4. What a silly premise. One musician, no matter his compass headings, can make or break a great man like Bill Richardson.

5. What a silly premise. One musician, no matter his compass heading, CAN'T, I meant CAN'T make or break a great man like Bill Richardson.

6. I see Tim (NO.2) is all for "our boys" continuing to be uselessly killed in a senseless war (?? - why did this war start anyway - Iraq didn't attack us) I wonder if Tim is old enough to be sent OVER THERE - and wonder how long it would take him to be crying "Get me the hell out of here." It's easy, Tim, to speak from this side of the fighting.

7. Tim you are fool. Why not rent your mouth out for ad space? You spit out slogans and catch phrases like a robot. Billary, Cut and Run...Ughh!

8. Well, it didn't take too darn long before the subject matter became Tim and not Toby Keith.
It would be nice to see people stay on topic for a change.
Musicians have been "campaigning" for political candidates for as long as I can remember, even as far back as 1968 when Tommy James & The Shondells were lined up behind Hubert Humphrey.
It didn't work then and it shouldn't work now, because I would like to think most Americans take this seriously enough to check out where a candidate stands on issues. I would hope votes aren't cast based on the candidate your favorite singer endorses.

10. Well, Buddy, did you forget that neither of the Clinton's fought for the IT to which you refer in your post. They certainly fought for covering up their criminal acts in Arkansas, and letting others take the fall. Yeah, sure, Vince Foster committed suicide. How do intelligent people forget such debauchery so quickly? And for those who want not to consider what people do in their private lives, remember, that what you do when no one is looking defines your true character. That is one reason I just can't vote for Rudy even if he or his whichever wife were my best friend. When a person's private life has been lived around deceit and hurting the ones supposedly loved, think what one is capable of with total strangers. Accountability is important. I don't want a first lady who was shacking up with a married man either and intentionally breaking up a family. What would a presidential oath mean, if the marriage oath before God is disregarded? And these weren't just mistakes they made when they were young. Those decisions of behavior are all about commitment. They keep their commitments when it is comfortable, but in the end they do what they want no matter who gets hurt. I'm not saying these are not good people who have perhaps come to peace and made ammends. I'm saying they are not in a position to lead the country or even be in congress in my opinion and many others.

11. All I know is Republican or Democrat you will be very sorry and very broke if Bill Richardson gets to be President. I live in NM and the man is very well known for his shady politic and spending. "Cronyism" is his middle name. There is no one that can look you in the eye and lie like our chubby Bill.

12. hollywood/musicians are so out of touch anyway, who cares who they endorse ? are we so sheepish that we have to look to these millionaires and follow their leads ? if these people really cared about all the causes that they tell us that we should care about why don't they give away the millions of dollars that they have to help? personally any side of the issue that rosie, striesand, sharpton, kennedy take I will always take the opposite

14. I am for Bill Richardson. Not because I know his Mother personally, but because of his potential and the integrity of his family. His father founded a well known University in México. After his death his Mother married a prominent doctor who founded the first blind library in México. She was a founder of Pro Ciegos. That organization has a facility that helps the blind or sight impaired live responsible and productive, self-supporting lives. I admire his track record. I believe personal integrity is very important for a person to be President of the U. S. However, negotiating and diplomacy are important factors that should not be overlooked. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

15. Hillary is right about infidelity, there are worse things to take into account. This marriage was her choice and she stuck with it. As for ANY president,s personal life, look how long it took to make it a full time job to dig dirt on any one in public life. Someone took very good care to write down all the dirt but it sure wasn,t front page news. And as many lies that are written now in the name of NEWS, how can we believe any thing that was printed 1 or 200 years ago. When they published the NEWS that Ike had been unfaithful to Mamie for their whole life, i think that was the beginning of all the hiprocry in the NEWS. Which ever man or women that wins this election will have a reporter and cameraman in the bedroomm
