Soon there will be four real Republican candidates for the Republican nomination for president in 2008. This is especially clear after last night, when Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani and John McCain rose above the rest, in both performance and style.
It's also clear that for the foreseeable future the immigration question, not Iraq, is going to be the focus of attention for Republican primary voters.
Also of note, the Republican political consulting and polling firm of McLaughlin & Associates released their latest poll conducted for Citizen's United yesterday showing that Rudy maintains his lead for the Republican nomination with 24% (-4 from their previous poll), with Fred Thompson moving up to second place with 18% (+5), John McCain in third with 17% (+1), Mitt Romney in fourth with 7% (-1), and Newt Gingrich in fifth with 5% (-1). 26% of probable primary voters remain undecided.

1. I understand Mr. Fred Thompson is in the running for the next president. I am in total agreement it is time for a change for America. I read an article recently about The Constitution Party and I like what it says about bringing the basics back to America.
Seven Principles of the Constitution Party are:
1. Life: For all human beings, from conception to natural death;
2. Liberty: Freedom of conscience and actions for the self-governed individual;
3. Family: One husband and one wife with their children as divinely instituted;
4. Property: Each individual's right to own and steward personal property without government burden;
5. Constitution: and Bill of Rights interpreted according to the actual intent of the Founding Fathers;
6. States' Rights: Everything not specifically delegated by the Constitution to the federal government is reserved for the state and local jurisdictions;
7. American Sovereignty: American government committed to the protection of the borders, trade, and common defense of Americans, and not entangled in foreign alliances.
This would be an America For The People, Of The People and By The People. My vote next election will be for Fred Thompson. He can make a difference.

5. It seems lots of radical righties are supporting Fred because he looks Presidential. Actually, now that we know about his dumping his wife of 30 years and his kids, and the sweet little cutie pie he picked up, he looks more like the perfect portrain of The Dirty Old Man and his pole dancing bimbo.
Yiikes ! This is what the republican party has come to. Sleezey morals, huge deficits, out of control spending, biggest governement ever, tax increased called " fees" to fool the foolish, abolishiton of the USA consitution and the USA Bill of Rights, and general incompetence. Plus a dirty old man.

6. I am terrified that persons of the ilk of F. Thompson continue to crawl forth and think that they can represent me. Thompson is a Bush clone. He says the same things for which I detest Bush. He hasn't had the opportunity to make the screw-ups Bush has. He hasn't had the continued opportunities to embarrass and endanger this county at every step that Bush has. But his stands show him to be a Bush clone. He failed to show himself independent from the failed Gingrich Plan against America. And, above all: who would he install into his cabinet, more of the same puppeteers who really rule the Divided States of America? I don't trust him. So, he is an actor. An actor is only as good as his material. Who's writing his material, that is to say: who owns him? I don't want another theocratic goon. I want my country back!

7. None of these man running for president get it. Give us our country back and get rid of all the undocumented people here sucking the life out of our hard working Americans and expecting more with more coming each day. Give Americans a chance to do these jobs that the illegals get and give them a decent wage, can't they see what this is doing to our country? We are losing what our forefathers worked so hard to plan for us. Frankly none of the Republicans running for President are convincing me they would take care of this problem.
NO AMNESTY, THAT'S THE BOTTO LINE. Frustrated American.

8. Thompson in the race is the biggest laugh of this young season of "who's on first." This man did absolutely nothing as a senator from TN...except push for the savings and loan debacle that cost this country billions and shut down thousands of thrifts. Please not again!! He would, however, be the easiest candidate to beat by the Democrats.

9. If you are ready for real change and don't like what you see with the stuffed shirts, look at Ron Paul. His message is very different.

10. Fred has much more governmental experience than Reagan did when he was elected. The man is brillant and very funny. I think he would be a great change for our country. Someone in the White House who is not afraid of being himself. I hope for all humanity that the Clinton wife does not re-appear! God help us if we see another 8 years of the Clintons.
Thompson's wife is beautiful, an attorney, and so why is everyone thinking she is a liability??? She should probably cover her chest a little more for a campaign. I am jealous of her. She's a lucky lady!.
