18. God has been called upon by the leaders of this great nation for hundreds of years. They asked primarily for guidance, protection, blessings and for wisdom so that they may lead the people fairly and effectively. What is wrong with that? where is the harm? Separation of Church and State was created to protect the people practicing their religious beliefs from being interfered with by the government, not the other way around as many would have you think.

19. FIRST OF ALL.. and this is concerning Huckabee.. People on this forum should know that almost all of our founding fathers were mostly LIBERAL DEISTS such as Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson. They were not Christian nor Catholic. In fact, many of them went to great things to ensure that Catholics in particular never held public office. they went to great lengths to seperate church and state. So you can stop listening the flat out LIES that people like Bill O'Reilley spew when they say this nation was "created by christians"

The reason Christianity(and all it's thousands of denominations) has become so popular is because it is easily "marketable" and you better believe religious institutions make billions per year. Science my friends is what we use to understand this universe, not religion. Religious people are all under the ASSUMPTION that 1) there is a god, B) their religion is the right one and C) ALL the MEN who wrote the bible thousands of years after jesus was born were "inspired" directly by "god". ASSUMPTIONS are the mother of all f**k ups. The theory of 1, 2, 10 or a billion "gods" is nothing more than a theory and unfortuneatly for you, there is NO EVIDENCE to back this up. The reason theories such as the "big bang" are respected is because you can actually OBSERVE the universe expanding.

You can pray to jesus all you want but the eath is NOT 6,000 years old, stop teaching our children those GARBAGE false facts!! You turn to the bible the same reason muslims have turned to the Qu'ran and other religions turn to their own scriptures. It's a cultural/regional thing NOTHING MORE! It is actually quite ironic and funny that so many Americans worship an ARAB looking Jew from Jerusalem who was not even Christian himself at the time mind you.

The fact is we already know that all life began in the water and the first organisms to walk on land evolved from the water. SOOO many things in the bible do not make sense and have been proven FALSE. Me personally, I am an Atheist. Saying that a spooky many in outer space created everything only brings up more questions than answers, who created this spooky man? Doesn't make any sense at all.

Just because human evolution is most probably FACT does not automatically mean the "concept" of a god is false. Just check your religion because THAT is what's WRONG not science. This is a KEY area where you can sniff out the false "creationist"/"intelligent design" agenda. They push so hard on "creationism" but reject things like evolution. LET GO of your FALSE bible already and realize that there a million other theories out there. The only way you will EVER prove "god's" existence is through SCIENCE, so embrace it and use it! If indeed there is a magical "being" who created everything(which there isn't), "he"(going along with the sexist terminology here) obviously made it extremely difficult to find since just about every region on the planet has a different perception of what "it" is. What kind of twisted individual plays these sick traumatizing jokes? Sorry but just because "the bible says so" does NOT make it true.

If "god" existed my friends(refering to the 1 talked about in the bible), it's NOT something that would have to be explained to you by "other people" who *think* they know what it is. It would be a part of each human's very existance such a human heart. We all need our heart to survive, it's not like some people have a heart and some don't, it's something we all NEED and there is no question that if you are alive you have one.

Whenever I have this convo with people, I always get the question "So what happens to you after you die"? My answer is, if you want to know how it feels to die, think about where you were before you were born.
