Mitt Romney just won't go away. He doesn't have the charisma of Rudy Giuliani or Fred Thompson but he keeps moving forward. The January primaries could give him the momentum to be a formidable contender in February.
Take a look at the most recent poll numbers for the states that matter in Jan. 2008.
| Electoral | ||||||
| Date | STATE | Votes | Giuliani | Thompson | Romney | McCain |
| Jan. 14 | Iowa | 7 | 15% | 17% | 25% | 6% |
| Jan. 19 | Nevada | 5 | 21% | 1% | 23% | 16% |
| Jan. 22 | N.H. | 4 | 22% | 12% | 29% | 20% |
| Jan. 29 | S.C | 8 | 21% | 25% | 11% | 7% |
| Jan. 29 | Florida | 27 | 30% | 24% | 8% | 11% |
If the numbers hold up, Giuliani will be explaining how he could lose three primaries in a row. It doesn't always pay to be the front-runner.
McCain will be explaining why he lost five out of five and is just getting weaker and weaker. My guess is that he will soon see his support moving over to Fred Thompson. If that happens, McCain will receive less than 10% of the vote in South Carolina and Florida. Could be an early departure for McCain.
Thompson is standing tall and getting stronger. It will be interesting to see if he gains strength after he announces or weakens under the microscope.

1. Romney definately has a good chance of being the nomination. He has high poll #s in New Hampshire & Iowa where it matters. Guiliani will continue to drop in the polls as more and more is revealed about "America's Mayor" and how he isn't the great hero we thought he was on homeland security. McCain has a 0.00% chance. The base hates him bc of his stance on immagration reform. Thomson is the girlfriend you want, but once you get it, you rather just move on. From what i've heard he isn't the best speaker and he was considered lazy in the Senate and really did nothing to make a name for himself.
The problem with Romney comes in the general election. John Kerry lost in 2004 because he was painted as a flip-flopper. Well Romney is even a bigger flip-flopper and that added to the fact americans want us out of Iraq, could ead to an easy Democratic victory. I think Guiliani would probably fare best against Dems in the general election, but i just don't think he'll get the nomination.

2. Mitt Romney is not the John Kerry of 2004.John Kerry lost not of the flip flopper but of Gay marriage issue and thats the answer to Kerrys defeat.Mitt Romney is the right choice for Republican and he will defeat any Democrats candidate in the general election.Thomson, Giuliani, McCain or any other Republican candidate will not survive an onslaught of a Democratic candidate.It's a history on a making if Mitt Romney wins the nomination for the Republican.Mitt Romney is a real conservative warrior and he will rescue the Republican Party from the edge of an embarrassing onslaught by the Democrats.Thats the answer and the solution for the Republican Party in these difficult days.

5. Fred Thompson aside, Mitt Romney does appear to be the most promising among the currently declared Republican candidates. Giuliani is just too liberal and his marital history a major problem for GOP voters in the south. It was no secret to people in NY that Giuliani was already having an affair with his current wife while he was still married to his previous and second wife. Does the GOP need a Bill Clinton light? The answer is a resounding NO. John McCain has been fatally damaged for his stand in immigration along with his history of flip-flops. In the end, GOP voters may just hold their noses and vote for a Mormon unless Fred Thompson breaks through in the primaries.

6. John, Giuliani' demise has been predicted since he announced. However:
--look at the very conservative State of SC, where Rudy, the Yankee moderate, is holding well against Thompson, the conservative Southerner;
--Add up each candidate's share of electoral votes, and you'll see that Rudy will get 12, Thompson 11, Romney 8, McCain 4.

7. I think the American people just before the primary will take a very good look once again and I know for sure the real deal candidate will be nominated.If I have a sure quess right now who that candidate might be,I'm leaning towards Mr Romney.He is right on target with all the issues raise throughout his campaign.

8. McCain's campaign does appear to be over.
Even if Romney appears to be making election gains, if a YouTube wild child paints him up as dancing to a flip flop beat—while the U.S. faces its myriad of global concerns, It'll probably be enough to sorely test his staying power as a candidate.
Because....America needs a leader with a vision. One that is on target. And someone that America can trust to assess the situation right (for the most part) from the get go.

9. American Rose #8 He is a professional and loves kids and he doesn't bother by kids stuff.It shows how kids admire him and thats why he will be president because one of his focus is to help kids of America to be successful in whatever they do.Youths of America need him to be our next President for his stands on Family issues.Isn't that ring some bell,most childrens now a days are seriously looking for comforts and dreams of a leader of Mr Romneys character to give them hope and fulfill their dreams.Most of our childrens and youths are victims of broken marriages and trouble families.This is their dream President and a blessing indeed to their lives.YOUTH OF AMERICA VOTE MITT ROMNEY.
