We've known for quite some time that Ron Paul is a "9/11 Truther" (or at least supported by those who are)--one who believes that 9/11 was done with the knowledge or complicity of the Bush administration. Now he's agreeing that conspiracies that have not yet happened will in fact come to pass:
Speaking to The Alex Jones Show, the Texas Congressman was asked his opinion on Cindy Sheehan's recent comments that the U.S. is in danger of a staged terror attack or a Gulf of Tonkin style provocation that will validate the Neo-Con agenda and lead to the implementation of the infrastructure of martial law that Bush recently signed into law via executive order, as well as public pronouncements from prominent officials that the West needs terrorism to save a doomed foreign policy.
"I think we're in great danger of it," responded the Congressman, "We're in danger in many ways, the attack on our civil liberties here at home, the foreign policy that's in shambles and our obligations overseas and commitment which endangers our troops and our national defense."
He believes that a terror attack will be staged to allow the evil Neo-cons of the Bush administration unimpeded access to attack Iran.
OK, I've had serious issues with Ron Paul's campaign. Besides his hypocrisy on earmarks and other issues, he's pretty much been...well, sane. Now, I'm not quite sure.
Here we have a presidential candidate (sure, one who is polling at 0%) who is saying on the record that he believes the current administration is capable of faking a terror attack, which will kill people, simply to advance their ideology. That's not campaigning, that's in the realm of JFK conspiracy theorists and Heavens Gate.
I was a huge critic of Bill Clinton and his policies -- including his non-action when the embassies and the USS Cole were attacked. I would never, ever, suggest that Clinton was capable of staging an attack to push his policies through. Maybe I'm naive in that assumption about any government official, but for Ron Paul to even consider this -- let alone say it out loud and on the air--is inconceivable to the average American.
Ron Paul's campaign has attracted a large Internet following, one that is boisterous and vocal (watch the comments to this post), but to think that they could defend this is preposterous and downright scary. The thought of the Ron Paul Brigades in tin hats is, of course, amusing though.

1. well i hate bush and i don't believe in any conspiracy theory, but i would guess that Paul doesn't believe that either, he is just saying whatever he can to get noticed.

2. Ron Paul is not a "9/11 truther." He does not believe that the US government planned the 9/11 attacks. What he believes is that American intervention in the middle east has caused blowback. He is correct.

3. I'll give you every cent i have if you can give me one, just one concrete source for Ron Paul saying anything along the lines of the Bush Administration having anything to do with 9/11/01.
Seriously, all these lame attempts at hit pieces are getting really old. Really old. Why not try to argue against anything that he has said. Oh, that's right, cause if you do you'll end up looking foolish because the man speaks more sense than any other candidate in either party.

4. Scott (the Author of this sleaze) is a truther, racist, whacko, nutjob, conspiracy theorist, crazy, socialist, communist, terrorist, anti-american, extremist, right-winger, blame america firster, and liberal.
Basically what I just wrote has more credibility than the lifetime writings of the author.

5. Here come the Paulites. I said his supporters are "truthers". Of course none of you respond to the fact that Saint Ron actually believes that the Bush administration would gin up a fake terror attack to gain power to invade Iraq. Your candidate is agreeing with ultra-left-winger Cindy Sheehan.
Typical Paul responders, you never explain your boys actions, you defend him blindly even when he says things that are completely idiotic.
Why did Paul not say something akin to "no, I don't believe that and I don't believe 9/11 was an inside job", we'd respect him more. Sadly, the reason he doesn't say that is he believes the opposite.
That would explain his raging increase in the polls from 0.078% to 0.923%. It's a juggernaut!

6. Top levels of the U.S. military proposed carrying out acts of terrorism against the United States in the early 1960s, in order to drag the United States into a war against Cuba.
Open up your eyes, history does repeat itself. It really is not that far fetched, the administrations approval rating is 28%. A terrorist attack would make their approval rating sky rocket.

However, Ron Paul is not a 9/11 truther. He believes it was middle eastern people who flew planes into our buildings because we had soldiers in their countries. Nice try getting a rise out of RP supporters.

7. Ron Paul is not a 9/11 Truther nor has he ever been.
The writer (Scott) is intentionally spreading misinformation. Scott, why don't you address the issues rather than using ad hominem attacks and lies to discredit Dr. Paul?
Representative Paul rejects the 9/11 Truth movement. He believes Muslim extremists murdered 3,000 American citizens.
Dr. Paul voted to go after Osama bin Laden. He has been critical of the Bush administration's inability to capture bin Laden and how they instead decided to interefere with the affairs of another nation (Iraq) who had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11.
Scott, shame on you for intentionally lieing to all who read this blog

8. I guess you think is wrong for all of these U.S. Military officials to question the Bush Administration's actions and the 9/11 Commission Report?

9. Muckraker Report: Last February, I published an article at the Muckraker Report called “9/11 Widows Keep on Asking the Tough Questions,” in which I interviewed four out of five of the “Jersey girls,” the 9/11 widows who spearheaded the drive to form the 9/11 Commission. In that article, Lorie van Auken calls the 9/11 Commission Report a “pathetic excuse of a report,” in which “seventy percent of our questions went unanswered.” Widow Monica Gabrielle had this to say: “Addressing all these unanswered questions out there is about more than simply trying to quell conspiracy theories. It’s about making sure Americans are safe by revealing the unfettered truth about the failures. Because you can’t make recommendations on distortions, omissions, and half-truths, which is basically what the 9/11 Commission did.” As president, would you be in favor of reopening investigation into the 9/11 attacks?
Congressman Ron Paul: If the 9/11 families aren’t satisfied with the results of the 9/11 Commission, than neither am I. I’m in favor of an independant investigation, provided costs are kept in check.

10. You are missing something very important!
Stop and think a minute...... Bush and his cronies fabricated a story about Iraq having WMDs. As a result of their deliberate lie, over 3,500 US soldiers and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been KILLED. So why do you find it so hard to fathom that Bush and Company wouldn't stoop to fake an attack to further their agenda. PEOPLE DIE needlessly in BOTH scenarios !
Are seriously arguing that Bush & Company wouldn't do a certain thing because people might be killed ??????
This administration has already proven what they are capable of. Get your head out of the sand.

11. I said his supporters are "truthers".
You said:
We've known for quite some time that Ron Paul is a "9/11 Truther"
You said in the first sentence of your article that Ron Paul is a 9-11 Truther. You are wrong, and are either ignorant or deliberately making false claims.
Tox at 5:24PM on Jul 13th 2007
12. So it is unpatriotic to questions a government that has been known again and again to lie to it's citizens? It is unpatriotic to support someone that dares to go against a party who snubs it nose at anyone it chooses? No one wants another George Bush ever again and that is why Ron Paul is gaining so much attention. I will fight for Ron Paul all the way and trust me, I am far from alone. You are the one who is crazy for trusting people that would sell your ass out in a heartbeat.

13. Scott,
You cannot distance yourself from your blog. You said: "We've known for quite some time that Ron Paul IS [emphasis mine] a "9/11 Truther" (or at least supported by those who are)--one who believes that 9/11 was done with the knowledge or complicity of the Bush administration."
Then, when someone calls you on it, you say: "Here come the Paulites. I said his supporters are 'truthers.'
No, Scott, you said Ron Paul IS a 'truther." You cannot fall back on your qualification "...or at least supported by those who are..." when your assertion is proven false.
Ron Paul's various positions aside, or the vociferousness of his supporters, you need to go back to LOGIC 101 and learn how to construct a proper argument. Why should we take you seriously when you can't even keep your assertions straight?
THEODEN at 5:26PM on Jul 13th 2007
14. Ron Paul is not a 9/11 Truther.
Why would he have voted to go after Osama bin Laden if he was a truther? He has stated in all the debates that Muslim extremists murdered 3,000 American citizens. He has stated that these extremists are our enemies, and he has sworn that he will hunt down Osama bin Laden.
Scott, you are either intentionally spreading misinformation or you have not done you're research. I seriously hope that it is the latter.

15. It's amazing how this guy can twist the truth so much.
Are you looking for the truth or are you trying to twist whatever you hear and see to fit your belief?
