We've known for quite some time that Ron Paul is a "9/11 Truther" (or at least supported by those who are)--one who believes that 9/11 was done with the knowledge or complicity of the Bush administration. Now he's agreeing that conspiracies that have not yet happened will in fact come to pass:
Speaking to The Alex Jones Show, the Texas Congressman was asked his opinion on Cindy Sheehan's recent comments that the U.S. is in danger of a staged terror attack or a Gulf of Tonkin style provocation that will validate the Neo-Con agenda and lead to the implementation of the infrastructure of martial law that Bush recently signed into law via executive order, as well as public pronouncements from prominent officials that the West needs terrorism to save a doomed foreign policy.
"I think we're in great danger of it," responded the Congressman, "We're in danger in many ways, the attack on our civil liberties here at home, the foreign policy that's in shambles and our obligations overseas and commitment which endangers our troops and our national defense."
He believes that a terror attack will be staged to allow the evil Neo-cons of the Bush administration unimpeded access to attack Iran.
OK, I've had serious issues with Ron Paul's campaign. Besides his hypocrisy on earmarks and other issues, he's pretty much been...well, sane. Now, I'm not quite sure.
Here we have a presidential candidate (sure, one who is polling at 0%) who is saying on the record that he believes the current administration is capable of faking a terror attack, which will kill people, simply to advance their ideology. That's not campaigning, that's in the realm of JFK conspiracy theorists and Heavens Gate.
I was a huge critic of Bill Clinton and his policies -- including his non-action when the embassies and the USS Cole were attacked. I would never, ever, suggest that Clinton was capable of staging an attack to push his policies through. Maybe I'm naive in that assumption about any government official, but for Ron Paul to even consider this -- let alone say it out loud and on the air--is inconceivable to the average American.
Ron Paul's campaign has attracted a large Internet following, one that is boisterous and vocal (watch the comments to this post), but to think that they could defend this is preposterous and downright scary. The thought of the Ron Paul Brigades in tin hats is, of course, amusing though.

226. I posted earlier alleging a 9/11 Zionist plot, today I read a piece that confirms exactly that. A Zionist coverup. If 19 radical Islamists perpetrated these acts, how could they convince the most pro Israeli barristers in this country to cover their tracks. Read it and weep, Scotty!

227. "I would never, ever, suggest that Clinton was capable of staging an attack to push his policies through."
911 was planned and acted out by the US government for so much more then just getting policies to pass. Do some research, they had dozens of motives..

228. LBJ lied to the American people and Congress about the Gulf of Tonkin. This is a documented fact. George W. Bush lied to the American people and Congress about Iraq's 'imminent threat' and WMD. This too is a documented fact. Anyone who denies these events is no better than a Holocaust denier, and considering that Bush supporters have a love for Hitlerite big government, it makes perfect sense that they would deny the truth yet again.

229. i dont know about conspiracy theories but i do know that tower seven deserves to be looked at closely....no airplane hit...controlled implosion...and how long in advance does a team need to creat such a neatly done controlled implosion....

230. I just find this funny. You would think a blogger would know that misrepresenting candidates' words ended with Web 2.0. People just pop over to YouTube and find out what the candidate actually says. If Ron Paul had ever hinted that he was a Truther, it would be all over the internet. Instead, all they can come up with is Dr. Paul being accosted at a house party by a Truther he didn't even know. There are plenty of videos of him saying specifically that he believes it is extremely likely that those accused by the official report are indeed the guilty ones, and he knows of no evidence to the contrary.

231. In response to this article...
Paul didn't actually say anything about the US government staging a terrorist attack in the interview cited.

Even an anti-Paul neocon writing for a neocon magazine is fair and diligent enough to actually listen to the interview and find out if Paul actually made those statements.
Looks like this entry is yet another example of poor and biased journalism in the coverage of Dr. Paul's campaign.

232. Scott, whoever you are, stop making assumptions. You assume that steel can be seriously weakened by temperatures produced by jet fuel fires. But if you take the time to look it up, you'll find that's not true. Which means that jet fuel fires from the jets that hit the Towers did not sufficiently weaken -- could NOT have sufficiently weakened -- the steel in the Towers and caused their collapse.
So what brought to Towers down, Scott? To answer that, you'll have to think for yourself. Do you even understand what that means?
Intelligent people are open to all factual information, and their only filter is reason. Stupid people believe "the truth" to be whatever the authorities tell them it is. I think it's time AOL started hiring bloggers who are not stupid.

234. Perhaps we are being a little hard-on Scott. It's clear we've been baited. He'll likely add these responses to his resume and while reaching back with his free hand, slide them over the top of Rupert Murdoch's desk.

236. dear scott, you are obviously a graduate of the university of stupidity, how can anyone take you seriously when you say in your article 'We've known for quite some time that Ron Paul is a "9/11 Truther" (or at least supported by those who are)' and the 'Here come the Paulites. I said his supporters are "truthers".' NO, YOU SAID 'We've known for quite some time that Ron Paul is a "9/11 Truther" (or at least supported by those who are)' here it is again 'We've known for quite some time that Ron Paul is a "9/11 Truther" (or at least supported by those who are)' and again 'We've known for quite some time that Ron Paul is a "9/11 Truther" (or at least supported by those who are)'

237. The recent article, "Ron Paul: U.S. In 'Great Danger' Of Staged Gulf Of Tonkin Style Provocation" on PrisonPlanet.com is inaccurate and false. I listened to the entire interview and Ron Paul said nothing about a "possible staged false flag operation". Those are Alex Jone's words, not Ron Paul's.
If you listen to Ron Paul's actual quote, he's not saying "Our own government is gonna stage a terror attack on our own soil" (hint, hint, just like they did on 9/11), but "We're in much greater danger to be attacked by terrorists overseas or here at home, because our policies have been flawed."
I've asked PrisonPlanet to print an apology and issue a retraction. So far, there has been no response.

238. If you check out what Ron Paul says you'd find it all true, instead of trying to make him out to be a conspiracy theorist!
Get your head out of the sand! Thinking the way you do is why everything is going to hell because no one is smart enough to face the truth when it is there to find if they'd only look!

All Military Personnel take an oath "to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic... and obey lawful orders." In fact military personnel are accountable for obeying unlawful orders under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The only form of government that demands blind trust and obedience is TYRANNY!!! Wake up America!!!

240. Scott, first you premise that "[Ron Paul] is saying on the record that he believes the current administration is capable of faking a terror attack, which will kill people, simply to advance their ideology."
Unfortunately, the rest of your article does not substantiate this premise nor does the mp3 at the source site. So your argument is *invalid*.
Next, in one of your comments on this site you explicitly assert "Saint Ron actually believes that the Bush administration would gin up a fake terror attack to gain power to invade Iraq."
Evidence? None, just like the first time. But this time you assert to personally know what 'Saint Ron' BELIEVES? Preposterous.
You have been incapable of demonstrating the ability to cite factual evidence for your arguments. In what possibly logical fashion are you going to substantiate the claim that you, Scott- a blogger on AOL, have in possession the intangible concept of Ron Paul's very own 'beliefs?'
This entire thread is a joke. Your article is a joke as are all your comments attempting to belittle Ron Paul, a candidate who speaks his mind freely in a consistent and infallible manner. I simply was incapable of reading the sarcasm in any of your comments and therefore believe that others may have trouble too. So, again, to clarify, what Scott has been stating here is humor, a joke, not reality, let alone nothing fact.
