We've known for quite some time that Ron Paul is a "9/11 Truther" (or at least supported by those who are)--one who believes that 9/11 was done with the knowledge or complicity of the Bush administration. Now he's agreeing that conspiracies that have not yet happened will in fact come to pass:
Speaking to The Alex Jones Show, the Texas Congressman was asked his opinion on Cindy Sheehan's recent comments that the U.S. is in danger of a staged terror attack or a Gulf of Tonkin style provocation that will validate the Neo-Con agenda and lead to the implementation of the infrastructure of martial law that Bush recently signed into law via executive order, as well as public pronouncements from prominent officials that the West needs terrorism to save a doomed foreign policy.
"I think we're in great danger of it," responded the Congressman, "We're in danger in many ways, the attack on our civil liberties here at home, the foreign policy that's in shambles and our obligations overseas and commitment which endangers our troops and our national defense."
He believes that a terror attack will be staged to allow the evil Neo-cons of the Bush administration unimpeded access to attack Iran.
OK, I've had serious issues with Ron Paul's campaign. Besides his hypocrisy on earmarks and other issues, he's pretty much been...well, sane. Now, I'm not quite sure.
Here we have a presidential candidate (sure, one who is polling at 0%) who is saying on the record that he believes the current administration is capable of faking a terror attack, which will kill people, simply to advance their ideology. That's not campaigning, that's in the realm of JFK conspiracy theorists and Heavens Gate.
I was a huge critic of Bill Clinton and his policies -- including his non-action when the embassies and the USS Cole were attacked. I would never, ever, suggest that Clinton was capable of staging an attack to push his policies through. Maybe I'm naive in that assumption about any government official, but for Ron Paul to even consider this -- let alone say it out loud and on the air--is inconceivable to the average American.
Ron Paul's campaign has attracted a large Internet following, one that is boisterous and vocal (watch the comments to this post), but to think that they could defend this is preposterous and downright scary. The thought of the Ron Paul Brigades in tin hats is, of course, amusing though.

76. This article is bunk plain and simple. I'm more than willing to discuss any issues with Ron Paul, but this just gets me limp. You can't really discuss a hit piece.

77. NO clue who wrote this piece, but whoever it was is a freakin' retard. Are you kidding me with this crap? Ron Paul believes that 9/11 was an inside job? Yeah you keep telling yourself that so you can try to squeeze out whatever credibility remains in your agenda.
We ARE in danger of a terrorist attack, but it isn't because the U.S. is complicit in some deep conspiracy. It's because the U.S. is led by idiotic presidents (elected by people like the author of this post, e.g. morons) and we quoting the evil Ron Paul, try to enforce our values and policy on other country's at the barrel of a gun.
In case you don't follow the news, the terrorists have already given us an ultimatum. They said, get out or you will experience a terrorist attack far greater than anything you've seen and 9/11 won't even come close.
It's bullshit rhetoric the way President Bush's rhetoric is bullshit, but extremists always give themselves some wiggle room should they be able to pull off the murderous rampage of the century.

78. There are only two scenarios that can be possibilities on 911 1. Our government new about or even participated in the attacks or 2. Our national defense sucks. What if we had been attacked by a real country? One with their own planes and a real military. Would it still take them an hour and ahalf to scramble some palnes to counter such an attack? How much do we spend on defense, again?

80. Hi,
google gulf of tonkin and see what you find out....
I hope so far many of you have found favor with Ron Paul... Some of you may find this article alarming... I wish to speak to those who may feel this way at the moment.
If you are a enjoy the accounts of history you will note many tragic examples of governments. Paul, for sure is a scholar of history and he does understand false flag events just as anyone who is running for office does. However, Paul will be more honest and provide the facts and not a political view.
Some may not be aware of a false flag event and some may be aware of such points but doubt they exist.
Hitler improved his popularity by a false flag events.... The Gulf Of Tonkin is a perfect example of false flag terror. Go find out what LBJ did with the gulf of tonkin event Just go google it and find out for yourself.
Paul does make an interesting point. If another attack occurs we will see an attack on our civil liberties. By the way didn't we see a tremendous change in our civil liberties just after 9-11?
Please take the time to learn more about Dr. Paul and don't allow the media to spin the facts. By the way didn't Bush lie about the reasons we went to war? Since he did lie then why are we still in Iraq?

81. What a misinformed blog. Your comments tat Paul is a "truther" because truthers support him is akin to me saying that you have herpes if someone with hepes supports you.
/retard.

82. Really, this is the best you can do. It really is sad. Ron Paul is a true American that cares and listens to all people. He wants to address real issues. The housing market is tanking with more problems coming this fall. We should just give China a blank check as we are shipping all of our money over there. Everyone can feel these problems and know that trouble lies ahead. Just listen to David Walker. And if you don't know who he is then you shouldn't even talk about the future of this country.
Ron Paul will be the NEXT President of the United States.

83. Scott,
Not as a Ron Paul supporter, but as someone who just was looking into Ron Paul and stumbled across this blog today really irks me with just a couple of points that I would like for you to address. First to start a sentence that you know that someone is something and then offer a caveat is just a bad way to “report” information. Let me rephrase your sentence for you to see how stupid you sound. “We’ve known for quite some time that Bill Clinton is a homosexual (or at least supported by those who are). Your eyes are drawn in on the statement that I made that Bill Clinton is a homosexual. Then the information provided in the parenthesis neither confirms nor denies the “knowledge” you have just imparted on us. It just adds a little bit more juicy detail to your “knowledge”. I did not even bother to read the rest of your blog because of such a statement.

84. Fancy rhetoric, designed to get Paul supporters riled. Go fish and stop wasting time and space.

85. Look people especially all you Ronnie Paulties followers,no matter what kind of language and type of vocabulary you try to explain his views he is sure sound like a leftist liberal.Tell me,if we are attack again is he still stuck to his anti war crab? It's bad enough the anti war activist said all kinds of sick comments to our countrys beloved President, but for someone of his stature representing American people in the house of representatives and of the same party not supporting the Presidents decision is seems suspicious to me.

86. War and Foreign Policy
The war in Iraq was sold to us with false information. The area is more dangerous now than when we entered it. We destroyed a regime hated by our direct enemies, the jihadists, and created thousands of new recruits for them. This war has cost more than 3,000 American lives, thousands of seriously wounded, and hundreds of billions of dollars. We must have new leadership in the White House to ensure this never happens again.
Both Jefferson and Washington warned us about entangling ourselves in the affairs of other nations. Today, we have troops in 130 countries. We are spread so thin that we have too few troops defending America. And now, there are new calls for a draft of our young men and women.
We can continue to fund and fight no-win police actions around the globe, or we can refocus on securing America and bring the troops home. No war should ever be fought without a declaration of war voted upon by the Congress, as required by the Constitution.
Under no circumstances should the U.S. again go to war as the result of a resolution that comes from an unelected, foreign body, such as the United Nations.
Too often we give foreign aid and intervene on behalf of governments that are despised. Then, we become despised. Too often we have supported those who turn on us, like the Kosovars who aid Islamic terrorists, or the Afghan jihads themselves, and their friend Osama bin Laden. We armed and trained them, and now we’re paying the price.
At the same time, we must not isolate ourselves. The generosity of the American people has been felt around the globe. Many have thanked God for it, in many languages. Let us have a strong America, conducting open trade, travel, communication, and diplomacy with other nations.

87. I encourage the Ron Paul supports to ignore this stuff. It's just baiting you. Move on.

88. Folks, stop conversing with the likes of 'scott', he couldn't care less about the truth, or whether Ron Paul is genuine. His a shrubite, and they are incurable. Do not give them the time, rather, spend it researching articles more informative.

89. The "average American" is waking up, albeit late in the game. If anyone scares me (because they are bringing America down) it is people like the author (and his useful idiot supporters) of this post, people who are so cowardly, so blind and so arrogant that they develop a deep-seated hatred of the truth (and of those who speak it) and so support the corrupt elite establishment's police state policy of tyranny to "keep us safe".
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsel or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands of those who feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you. May posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."

90. Ron Paul does not think the U.S. government staged an attack on Americans or that it would. Someone needs to ask him point blank so he can clear this up because of these vague interpretation of his statements going around. Any "conspiracy" that he entertains the thought of would be a "conspiracy" to fabricate information in order to push for the invasion of Iraq to monetarily benefit the military-industrial complex. That's a reasonable suspicion.
