"The governor stopped briefly for a picture with a supporter who just happened to be holding their own sign with an alliterative play on words," Madden said, via e-mail. "I don't think it was equating or comparing anyone."
See, he wasn't holding the sign -- just standing with the supporter who was holding the sign. Almost like he was walking by and it was just a play on words, doesn't mean a thing. Really? If Barack or Hillary held a sign comparing Bush to Osama it would be all over. If it's OK to hold the sign, then it's OK to run a commercial suggesting that Democrats are terrorists. Oh but he wasn't holding the sign you say, just standing there? Does this look like he was holding the sign or not? You decide. Looks to me like George and Mitt have more in common than just hair.
Update: The Romney campaign has another explanation for the sign
"I don't look at all the signs that come up that I get pictures taken with . . . so I don't have anything particular to say about a sign someone else is holding. . . . Lighten up slightly. Lighten up. . . I'm not responsible for all the signs I'm handed."
First it was just a play on words, now it's I didn't even look at it. What's next, I only went hunting held it once?
As for the comment that Dems tried to link Bush to Enron, not quite. Bush linked himself to Enron taking tons of money, flying around on the corporate jet and allowing Ken Lay to place his employees in charge of the government agencies that were supposed to regulate his business.

1. Mitt would be a perfect fit for the Bush Administration, but America doesn't know enough about the Morman religion. All we see is 1) they dress nice, 2) they ride bikes, 3) they are very religious and 4) they don't treat everyone like equals. The fourth reason is "Affirmative Access" and that's enough to make Mitt run for Governor. This is the man that locked down Utah so we could enjoy the Olympics. Imagine what he could do if he had a 9-11 and the power of an army behind him. That's a non starter until we can sort out the powers of the Constitution. Keep dressing nice and looking good.

2. Mitt is an idiot. The only reason he is a viable candidate is the amount of money pouring in from Utah and Arizona. Arizona by the way has more Mormons than Utah.
Without the Mormon support he'd be done.
Anyone ever see the SouthPark episode on Mormonism? Classic. It fed my opinion of mormons.

3. On small point. Mitt Romney's spokesman doesn't say that he never held the sign. Neither does Mitt Romney. It looks like perhaps you could take Mitt Romney's advice and "lighten up." If you did you probably would have caught that, instead of getting over excited and reading things that are not there.

5. I looked, I saw, I think people are making a lot out of nothing. SO WHAT! On the other hand what is this world coming to when episodes of Southpark define who we are and what we believe in?

6. I have not known many Mormons but those I have met seem to be hard working, responsible and committed to live independent useful lives. Not a bad standard for a country that has become lazy, dependent on government handouts and is clueless about its own future. Not to mention what kind of country we will leave to our children and grand children.

7. I'm not a Mormon -- but indeed a christian........
While your all shining the spot light on Mitt and his religion -- and no one even seems to understand the religion -------- I yet to hear anyone talk about Obama and his.......So hows that going to look to the Muslim world? and yours since the United State is overwhelmingly Christian.... HELLO!

8. Why should Mr Romney's faith have anything to do with his politic's?. He meets the requirements, People feared we'd be run by the Pope when Kennedy ran, Didn't happen! There've been several mormon officials who served in high positipons of this country and did it very well. And with out fan fair, and did not bring disgrace to themselves or this country. Not like Wm C.

10. I spent 6 years in Utah and saw an evil side of mormonism you would not believe. If ever there was a wolf in sheeps clothing ??? "Even the devil himself can disguise himself as an angel of light."
