When you're right, you're right. And when it comes to the subject of Iraq, the only candidate to be able to brag on that score at yesterday's GOP debate in Iowa was Ron Paul. What a breath of fresh air the man is. To the party establishment, however, Paul carries a foul, heretical odor. I'm sure they wish he'd just go away. Here's a recap of all the Paul highlights.
Note to the other Republican candidates: even your own base is now splintered on the question of the war. Sticking by the president is a losing issue. You'd be wise to listen to Ron Paul, at least insofar as the war is concerned.

3. One thing that ALL the candidates are good at is hindsight. But which ones have a vision for the future?

4. With so many Presidential candidates so far behind the front runners Ron Paul, among others, has to say something to get attention.
Adam Gadahn's latest taped threats to attack Americans reveals the war on terror is not "just a bumper sticker slogan"; remember that one?

5. Um, Dave? The public support for the war is trending upward and those elected officials who sold out the cause will pay.
Ron Paul is actually on the wrong side of this issue, as he is many others.
When liberals support Paul and push his line of thinking, that's a good sign that he is so wrong for the country.

6. I had been curious about Ron Paul before I saw him on TV Sunday. I now have no doubt, I will not support him. Besides being wrong, he does't come across as Presidential

8. Um, Scott? Do you even know what a conservative is.. er.. used to be?
Ron Paul defines old-school conservatism.
But you, like so many other big-government "conservatives", just love to be lied to over and over and over by scumbag politicians... and when a fellow "conservative" is busy tearing the Constitution to shreds... idiots like you cheer.
Go live in Communist China, you fucking traitor.
James at 8:58PM on Aug 6th 2007
9. I think calling the guy a traitor is uncalled for, but spending some time in China isn't a bad idea. It might cause him to respect our Constitution more and be angered when politicians (Bush/Cheney) try to kill it.
Then again, I've come across some of these neo-conservative types, and they're not too bright.
I would suggest that Scott go read some of James Madison's writings on liberty and war.

10. I recommend that Scott read some of Jesus' teachings, also...I believe they're written
down in a Book called The New Testament...

11. The utter ignorance of Americans is appalling. unfortunately I can't explain it all here but the subjects are The "PRIVATE CORPORATION FEDERAL RESERVE" which is not Federal and has no reserve. (google the video "The Money Masters" or "Fiat Empire" or "Freedom to Fascism") Then there is the North American Union, combining Canada, America and Mexico and one currency for all (again google it). I just noticed in this video that George Bush swore to uphold the law of the land. There is a big difference between upholding laws that have been twisted over many generations to the original intent and the real law of the land, the Constitution. I have noticed that when people dog Ron Paul, it is because the only form of info they listen to is the MSM and most certainly have little or no knowledge of the subjects I just stated. The reason (IMO) that Ron Paul is so big on the net is because most of these people have finally learned of these things and can now claim that their head is no longer in their ass. I would ask that before any of you "wise people" replies to this to dog me, that pull your head out and become familiar with them before you dog me or Ron Paul.

12. It's pretty simple really.
1. Where ever our federal government gets involved, it brings with it, and draws to it a great deal of power. Examples would be the federal government's involvement in medicine or in education.
2. Power is feared and hated by those who are being controlled by that power - so foreign countries that feel that they are powerless in the face of the US occupation of Iraq (as well as all those countries where we maintain bases - over a hundred) fear and loathe us for asserting our power... even if we went there with good intentions, there are unintended consequences to the actions we've taken. The longer we stay, the more anger, hatred and violence we will incite against us.
3. Power corrupts. Whether it be lobbyists trying to get their fair share of the government loot or foreign countries trying to get aid/weapons/power by standing up to us, by acting tough, by fighting us through back channels, by trying to get nuclear weapons... bad people are empowered by us. good people who want nothing of the power are negatively impacted by the abuse of that power.
4. The solution is easy. Neutralize the power. You do that by first reducing the power and the involvement of our federal government. Reduce our entangling alliances but trade with all. Only then can we have true neutrality with all countries so that no one can manipulate the power we have for their own gain. And this foreign policy will significantly reduce our budget needs, putting us in a position where we can actually defend this country instead of other people's countries... get our government out of our wallets as currently they force us to pay, at the point of gun, while they throw money and guns away to foreign countries... and take care of the people here until they can become self-reliant again...
then finally reduce the power and scope of the federal government here at home... returning it to the size and scope explicitly designated by the constitution... so that big corporations and powerful lobbyists don't gravitate toward the central power held by the federal government today and therefore return the power to the people (and their local governments) where it belongs. The federal governments responsibilities should be to provide for a national defense, the general welfare and to protect our individual liberties.
Simple. If you are upset that Ron Paul didn't express this in a 30 second sound bite, I'm sorry... all you need to do is look up some of his speeches on youtube and you'll find a tremendous amount of valuable, educational material as he really is quite clear on his positions when given the opportunity to elaborate.

13. We need to educate people about what propaganda is and the various propaganda techniques. It's amazing how many people watch MSM and believe every word! Alot of people really do believe that Bill O'Reilly is "looking out" for them...unbelievable!
