Want to know the future? Take the pulse of a business leader who gathers more information on marketing than any of us. His advice? Own a word. One word that has value and meaning and that leads to world wide recognition. What's one of the top three? Al Gore. In fact, it's one of the top words world wide. Gee, I wonder which country could use some respect around the world. I saw a bumper sticker the other day: "Al Gore 2000. Sounds pretty good now doesn't it?" I could think of a few things we would and wouldn't be doing.
How has Gore distinguished himself in the past six years? Why does his name have value and the Bush name much less so. By the way, if you think the Bush name has value you're probably a good person who listens to Rush, Faux News, Bill O'Lielly and read lil green footballs. You're also seriously deluded. Please remember, blogs are about facts and opinions. You're entitled, we all are. Back to Gore.
There are three things that stand out. His environmental work has been stellar. The movie is not my favorite but it is quite factual and has raised awareness for many. After a period of relative isolation and distance following the 2000 election he was an early opponent of the war and a passionate defender of the Constitution. He could win the Democratic nomination even if he enters 'late' (is October 2007 late??) and would likely win the general. So why isn't he running? You'll have to ask Al. What do you think? Should he? Will he? He's got the brand, does he have the will?

1. If Mr. Gore .... No!...... when Mr. Gore announces his candidacy not only would i vote for him, i would drop everything and volunteer. we need him for his worldwide respect yes, but also his intelligence, his respect for the Constitution, his disdain for corporate control of the media and politics, etc. The late Carl Sagan considered his dear friend a genius....... that pretty much sums it up. -Peace

3. I like and admire Al Gore. but I think it is clear he does not want to run for president again. And with polls indicating that 85% of Dmeocrats are happy with the choice of candidates, it's hard to see some sort of draft developing at this point.

4. Al Gore doesn't need to do the work of running for the presidency, much less to win his party's nomination. He's already done both jobs, successfully on all counts excepting that of the Supreme Court. Furthermore, voters seem equally bored by a wide enough field of candidates to all but guarantee a brokered Democratic Convention, a vicious gathering to be sure, in which Al Gore is almost certain to be drafted as a peacekeeper (not to mention a sure-fire winner in November!) When offered the nomination, I believe he will accept, and that the general election will be a landslide in his favor--regardless of who the Republicans choose to oppose him or their best ballot box manipulations. In any case, proving his mettle further--especially to the Democrats--would be a superfluous and time-consuming exercise, and Al Gore is a very busy man. With less than 500 days before his inauguration, Al has more important things to do than pander to voters who need no further convincing. If anything, Al Gore is better than ever. There's been a metamorphosis--we can all see it--Al Gore is not just from Tennessee anymore. He's like Charlton Heston after coming down from the mountain, but without all the gray and wrinkles--wizened, yet youthfully so, and VERY presidential. Of course Al has always been top notch, even when he was just a boy carved from wood, but ever since this Pinnochio effect took hold he has been a positive marvel! Under Al Gore's leadership a new and wonderful era will soon be dawning--not the authoritarian New World Order of the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld cabal, but something more akin to The United Federation of Planets! Wouldn't it be a hoot if this time he picks KUCINICH to be his Veep? Live long and vote!

5. Gore is such a fatass fraud he was caught on a late '70s gas guzzling ptivate jet last week. A website to draft him to run for president didnt even have three thousand signatures. Except for his cheerleaders in the above posts, people have his number....carbon credits and all

6. "For the first time in history, mankind faces completely new global challenges, for this reason the next President of the United States of America cannot just be the next American President. He must bring with him the standing of being the recognized leader of the free world. There is only one person with such standing: Al Gore." Quoted from the german draft-Gore site www.algore2008.de. There is nothing more to add.

7. Oh god. Yet another Democrat from the White House that simply won't go away. His movie has been denounced as a fraud by the English courts and yet everyone still laps it up. The man is as self-serving and obnoxious as Michael Moore.
The only reason why the European bow to Gore, Kerry and other Democratic twits is because they continually bend to Europe. Europe enjoys this because they know they are no longer the relevant super-power in the world so they like the pretense of it.
It sickens me. We invaded Bosnia and no one made so much as a peep. We removed a vile dictator from power who killed more than Saddam.
The only difference is that Bosnia was done under the pathetic auspices of the UN and Iraq we did on our own.
You know what the other difference is? Bosnia is still dealing with random murders, sectarian violence and the rest whereas Iraq is finally turning a corner. And anyone, ANYONE who thinks moving a dictatorship to a democracy is an easy task needs electroshock therapy.
Gore is a fraud. As pompous, self-serving and in denial as the rest of the left is.
And to john granacki, you really should learn what the law is and how it works. Gore demanded a hand recounting in Florida but only of 4 counties. Florida law states that if there is to be a manual, hand-counting then it must also be for the entire state. Second, Gore also asked that over-seas ballots be ignored. Why? Because the majority of over-seas ballots are from our Armed Forces who are predominantly Republican. Lastly, all the USSC said was that the count had to be completed in accordance with Constitutional law. I know you lefties like to think that the law is fluid and can be moved around from here to there but unfortunately it cannot.
